Disappointing service (awful to be honest) and food was a disaster.
We ordered ahead of collection and were told the order would be ready in 15 minutes, arrived 25 mins later and were told to wait another 15 minutes because they had only begun to prepare the order upon my wife’s arrival.
In what seemingly was a rush to make this order, the Deep Fried Chilli Cheese Burger had no sign of chilli and they seemed to have forgotten to remove the plastic wrapper that either contained the cheese or patty.
I’m pretty sure that this is a food safety issue because I had to fish a large piece of plastic from half way down my throat. Luckily I was in the process of consuming only one half of the burger.
The accompanying malva pudding with what was meant to have been custard did not get served with either the custard nor ice cream mentioned on their menu, instead it was some gravy-like slaty concoction I honestly can’t describe, seems like a sauce/relish you would put on a steak, so I suspect the custard was swopped with another component of a different order.
Needless to say, this could all be a pardonable set of unfortunate discoveries if the lady serving my wife could have been bothered to atleast acknowledge and offer some sort of apology or acknowledgement of inconvenience instead of proceeding to advance the level of condescension and disinterest one would expect from a home affairs official before closing time.
Its evident that the delayed preparation time and inconvenience caused them to rush the order and make such avoidable mistakes which have amounted to a big waste of money for two dishes since I see no point in trusting the safety of this food.
I truly doubt that I’ll be going back there anytime again in future, so I post this not for any response or apology from Del Forno, but for the benefit of any unlucky buyer who might try these dishes or any other similar dishes to be careful and double check that your food is prepared with cleanliness and care you...
