Since the opening of the Mall of the South, we (as a family) have not just been frequent shoppers, but also very regular patrons at various restaurants. I have always enjoyed our family outings, which have always been pleasant, until tonight.
Tonight, we had to endure the most intrusive noise levels accompanied by abusive, arrogant and uncouth behaviour, which turned our evening from a supposed pleasure to a miserable evening where we could not even hold a decent conversation.
We attended Col'Cacchio for dinner at around 7pm this evening. The loud music emanating from Life Grand Café was so intrusive that where we were sitting (close to Ocean Basket), we were unable to enjoy our meal and have a conversation, resulting in us having to shout at one another over the dinner table. At 7:15 pm, I walked into Life Grand Café requesting to speak to the manager. A gentleman (supposedly named Pat) was introduced to me as the manager. I explained to him that we are dining down the aisle and could hardly hear each other due to the loud music and would he kindly turn same down. I was met with a hostile, arrogant, rude demeanour accompanied by a nonchalant comment stating ”My customers like it so what”. I told the manager that surely this is not permitted for this is a shopping centre and not a night club, families come here to enjoy their time and not be disturbed by noised emanating from other restaurants. I walked back to Col'Cacchio, where I approached the manager to obtain centre management’s number. Life Grand Café’s manager followed me into Col'Cacchio, only to harass and intimidate me.
No apology, no compromise to turn the music down, which was still blaring full blast at 21:00 when we left.
How is this permitted??????????? How can one restaurant have no respect for the patrons and/or staff of other restaurants?
I am led to believe that this is an ongoing problem, which appears to be falling onto deaf ears.
This loud music not only caused an ergonomic hazard to the employees Life Grand Café, but also to the various patrons attending Life Grand Café and other patrons and staff of nearby businesses.
I fail to see that management has taken appropriate action against Life Grand Café (the attitude I was met with confirmed that they appeared to be untouchable) or is the Mall of the South run on a mafia basis where some tenants are allowed to break the rules to the detriment of other tenants and their patrons?
The attitude I was met with by Life Grand Café’s manager is appalling to say the least. My money is best spent elsewhere – will definitely not support this...
Read moreThe food at Life Grand Cafe MOTS is lovely... the service... not so much. Perhaps I was just unlucky in being in the designated area of a waitress who was not well trained or perhaps she was just not interested. We requested some drinks, one being a strong cup of tea for my Aunt. The tea was not brewed strong enough for her liking and thus we requested an extra teabag. No issue with paying for an extra teabag if that would ensure my aunt enjoyed her cup of tea. I don't think the waitress took kindly to our request as she became unhelpful from that stage. Furthermore our waitress had the audacity to bring us our bill before we had requested it. The restaurant was not busy might I add and there were more than enough empty tables should other patrons have arrived. For me personally, if I have not requested the bill at the restaurant, and it is brought to me, it signals that my business is not wanted. Cherry on top... I checked the bill and it was incorrect. I brought up the issue of incorrect billing as well as the waitress attitude with management and Pat quickly corrected the bill and apologised for the waitress. The waitress however still came past our table before we left and did not even attempt to apologise for the incorrect billing or the fact that she brought the bill without our request. Perhaps she needs to attend training as this reflects badly on the Life Brand.
Well done to the kitchen for atleast ensuring our order was delicious. Pity about the...
Read moreWe made reservation to celebrate my younger sister's graduation. Due to unforeseen events we were late for our reservation. We kept in contact with the manager of our situation and promised we still coming and she made arrangements for us which we really appreciate and grateful for. We get there late just before 9pm and she informs us of closing time and we fully understood and thanked her for it. The problem came when we had our drinks served, the waiter opened our drinks with a RING in his finger, we asked him why is he doing so not using an opener and he just looked at us with no reply, 2 minutes later the manager comes by and we voice to her our concern to her. Instead of acknowledgement a simple apology on behalf of her waiter. she told us how ungrateful we are that she kept the place open for us " mind due we were not the only customers present" and how her waiter is tired and working overtime. I didn't wanna ruin a special day for my sister that i decided to let it go but truth be told i felt like our business was not appreciated or valued. I come to your establishment every month or twice but yesterday's experience was awful the worst, just because you went out of your way for your CUSTOMER doesn't warrant you to treat...
