Sadly had to change my review and vow not to purchase anything from this branch.
I did get a response to my initial review, a generic one not worth anyone’s time but will post both.
Went again today and was bamboozled by the terrible overall experience. As I entered, a coupe had placed their order, next to me was an elder gent waiting for his order as he had his slip. I placed my order and went to 3 other stores.
I came back and found the couple before me and the gentleman waiting for their order. Eventually the gent got his.
I then saw my order in the pass, all but the onion rings. The onion rings were called out and a lady standing doing absolutely nothing went to grab it and fry it. Eventually my entire order was ready and Mary slowly and painfully placed it into a bag, she then folded napkins and cutlery at graceful pace to place in the bag. She then stared at the printed orders without a care in the world and EVENTUALLY called out 210.
I took my order and stated “it shouldn’t take so long to place cutlery into a bag madam”. To which she looked confused and offended by me stating the blatant obvious.
Got home and dished up… Rice, crunchy 🤮. Onion rings, undercooked 👎🏼. Prawns pops, FULL of poop 🤮🤮🤮 (initially I was upset that the container was filled 1/2 way but actually glad considering I can’t be bothered to eat prawn crap). Hake, salty if not off 😭.
Can’t comment on the calamari as my BF had it.
Do I recommend this branch? Not unless you want food that’s undercooked or full of poo or perhaps enjoy snail service.

Read moreWe treat ourselves every now and then with the baby hake and chips @ R39 It use to be served with chips and a portion of coleslaw & or onion rings @ R49. Then Fishaways became creative to still be able to keep the price the same. The fish changed and onion rings and coleslaw fell away @ R39 Yesterday we ordered the R39 baby hake & chips. We were very surprised when the fish came. It was this strange shaped fish with its tail still attached. We tried it and was grossed out. There were so much bones in the piece of fish with its tail. Had to scratch and scavenged through the fish to find a piece of meat without bones. It felt as if we were served reject fish part only fit for a feral cat. DISGUSTING!!!!
The staff were, like always, very friendly and understanding and remedied our dissapointing experience quickly.
This portion of fish you offer clients @ the very reasonable price of R39, does your brand more HARM than promoting...
