Gino's Pizza — Restaurant in Gauteng

I was very disappointed with the service. However the food was stunning. We arrived and were almost turned away by the hostess due to it being busy, only for the owner to sweep in and organize a table for us while we waited at the bar. The owner is very accommodating and sweet.

Once seated, our waitress (I asked her name and she didnt answer, I'm not sure if she heard me? She was short, caucasian with long dark hair and brown eyes) proceeded to rush us to order, saying pizzas will take between 1 to 2 hours (they arrived in 35 minutes at the end of the day) and I ended up ordering something I didnt really want as I didnt have time to choose. Luckily it was still tasty.

The waitress was exasperated and short with us the rest of the night, and was very condescending towards us. At the end of the night I asked her what was wrong when we were paying, and if we were irritating her, only for her to reply with "Yes, but I've had worse."

I know it was a busy night and in turn stressful for her, but I dont appreciate the way she operated. It really threw a wet blanket on...

Been coming here for 29 years & in the last year my family & I have noticed a decline in the food and service. The pizzas are coming with less and less ingredients and at times with no cheese or tomato sauce and served cold. Pizzas are starting to become like sandwiches. Recently had a Lasagna which used to be excellent, now its a soup with just sauce and hardly any sheeting and didnt taste good at all. The bowl its served in is not filled with lasagna, its like buying a large pack of chips and getting only 20% of it filled. so, big serving plate with no food in it. The waitresses here are extremely rude, abrupt & aggressive in their customer approach, they dont greet, overly pushing almost like they want you to sit, order, eat and leave all in 30 mins to turn tables around for commercial reasons. We've noticed that each of the last 5 visits, they have been adding extras onto our bill which weren't ordered, this is a clear approach to maximize billing so always check your it. We decided that we will be giving Ginos a long long break and will start supporting...
