Sadly the hotel experience was traditional and I think requires upgrades in certain areas whilst maintaining the theme e.g bathroom should have taps with mixers not separate hot and cold taps. The old photos of people in the bedroom was eerie, the room was huge but the second bed could not see the television. For a family of 4 you expect the general amenities to be available; Gowns, slippers, shower caps, when we requested we got only 2 shower caps, told due to Covid we get nothing else, no turn down for the nights even. Breakfast at the Casino was the worst experience ever. The Waitrons were not visible, nor inviting, nor were they able to accommodate our request. They were unclear of the menu, extremely limited menu options, even though it was buffet, entire confusion of mutton versus beef sausages, toaster was broken too. Breakfast at Gold Reef Theme park was top notch in comparison. On a good note you get free access to the theme park; a slice of cake for my birthday was provided, very tasty and well presented. Would recommend if you on a budget, if not book at the theme park instead,...
Read moreI went to gold reef city casino last night which I took my aunties who came up from Durban just to spend some time and the service at the help desk to for u to enter was a nightmare we stood over a hour waiting to get a band to get into the casino although we had a gold card the line took for ever to move due to the fact that they only had 2 people at the help desk helping people which they was talking more stories than really helping the people the other thing I experienced is to cash out ur winnings the casino close at 11 o clock but the cashier close at 10:30 people standing in the queue to cash out the winning was turn down and was told to come back the next day to cash out the winning which I feel is not fair because now have to make a special trip to the casino just to cash out they winning and cancel all the other plans before taking them to the airport to go back home I do understand the covid rule but if that was the case have more cashiers to do payout because not everyone can come back to just to cash...
Read moreI've never been to a casino outside of the US. Is it customary to leave your card in the slot machine and walk away. Cuz you don't walk away from your money in the US. Apparently here you do. If you're 80, entitled and think people are just going to magically know that that's your machine you are sadly mistaken! Yeah I got yelled at by some cripkeeper because I took her machine. Isn't it only your machine if you're standing in front of it? She told me I needed to go to customer service and learn the rules. I still stand by my you don't walk away from your money. It's a nice quaint Casino. Not a huge gambler. I think I lost maybe 200 rand? They did have a good choice of slots, and they have a smoking room which was really nice. I don't drink anymore so I don't know if they offer a free drinks like Vegas, do they still do that in Vegas? They need more cold drink stations. The reindeers outside we're pretty. It was a nice...
