Motherland Coffee Company - Parktown North — Restaurant in Gauteng

This has to be the worst Motherland in all of Johannesburg, yes even worse than Victory Park. This morning at about 7am I went in and bought two Mother Breves. This is my normal morning routine and I usually buy it at another Motherland. After explaining what I would like and that I would like it strong, the arrogant cashier tried upselling the extra shot which was never an option at the other store. The one Breve was satisfactory however the other was weak made by the exact same coffee maker (can’t call this person a barista). This isn’t my first bad experience at this store but it is my last. There is a complete lack of leadership here. Rather trust the runners and buy you morning drink...

Great coffee shop - this coffee shop is small where coffee making seems to be an art. You can grab something to eat from their small menu, including breakfast/sandwiches/salads or a danish from the counter

I had a slowly brewed cup of coffee and sat watching the time as well as effort that the team put into brewing this perfect cup of coffee. If you have time, sit down and catch up on work or with friends or - alternatively - grab something to eat on the way out

There is paid parking walking distance from the coffee shop that makes it easier to deal with the limited parking in the area

Coffee was mediocre as was the toasted sandwich. Scratch that, the toasted cheese was probably the equivalent of a 1st attempt in a primary school sandwich making project. Hardly the stuff I thought Motherland was known for. To add insult to injury when I asked if my colleague and I could utilise a table occupied by a box of veggies, the staff essentially advised that the veggies had first preference and that we should use the short counter instead, for the coffee and sandwiched that we had paid to enjoy.
