I had a very bad experience with the staff at this Nandos outlet tonight, thank you for asking.
I entered the restaurant and no one was at the door, so I applied sanitising alcohol myself, rubbed my hands and entered the queue. Next thing mini Hitler reborn is in my face waving the sanitiser bottle. I explained that I had already applied it thank you but he physically blocked me from proceeding in the queue.
I asked him what his problem was and he continued to wave the bottle and temperature device in my face. I explained to him again that I am not a child (I am 67) and I don't need him to give me an alcohol bath, especially since I had already sprayed my palms myself. I explained to him that legally it's my body and I have the legal right to decide what and how much is applied to my body. I explain again, I did not refuse to be sanitised, I refused to be over sanitised unnecessarily twice.
My reason for not wanting so my sprayed on my hands a second time is, one I had already done it, so there was no reason for him to do it a second time. Two, I have burn injuries on the outside of my hands and I always sanitise carefully on the palms, where surface contact is made, carefully avoiding the scabs on the outside of my hands.
I do not need some little cheeky wannabe policeman telling me that he will only allow me into the shop when he is satisfied. It was very belittling. The elderly black lady in front and the two youngsters behind me agreed that he is totally overboard and really has no right to treat anyone, old like me or young the way he did. I think someone needs to explain to him that he is actually spraying my hands without my permission, especially when I told him that I had already done so myself. As I say, at my age I really don't need someone to tell me he will decide when I will be allowed inside. No problem, I will quite happily eat elsewhere and you can be sure I'm goi to tell everyone about my bad experience.
It's time people like this are either trained properly or removed from contact with customers because they are obviously incapable of doing so properly.
KFC at Glen Acres was particularly delicious tonight and the gentleman who served me was really...
Read moreAs far as take aways are concerned, the food is Pricey (most likely the most expensive take away), and chicken seems to have lost its Nando
The above 👆🏻 was posted over a year ago, so we thought we would give Nandos Glen Marais another try, surely it must be better...?
What an absolutely shocking experience and this has now definitely made sure that we will never ever order from Nandos again.
We placed our order, went to another fast food eatery KFC, within 10 minutes the KFC order was done and given to us, with a smile. The KFC order was also hot and nothing was missing.
30 minutes after placing the order with Nandos Glen Marais, we were still waiting, agitated and tired. Eventually after more than 32 to 35 minutes, we get our bag (which one would hopefully assume is complete and correct).
No, that was not the case, after getting to our vehicle, the bag was incomplete and missing a 1/4 mild chicken and chips, Yay for us as we now need go back inside to the very and MOST unfriendly staff working the counter.
Right, now we have the complete order, +40mins later, we get home, the Chicken Pita was ice cold, not even luke warm and instead of mild spice, Nandos Glen Marais unilaterally decided to ignore our order and give us Extra Hot, not just with the pita but they did the same with the 1/4 chicken which looked like it had been thrown on a gas grill, then thrown into a bag with the sauce just poured over it.
We honestly hoped for better after not going to Nanados for over a year, but instead we got worse. Thank You Nandos, you reminded us why we do Not Support Nandos (esp Nandos Glen Marais) and will continue to speak to others about the horrible (and expensive) food and experiences we have had (others who we have spoken too agree)
Sadly, I can not give a -1 score, and even that would be generous, if you are looking for a great chicken take away, we would recommend KFC and or Barcellos are definitely so...
Read moreNando’s Glen Acres Drive-Thru has truly set the bar high for fast, efficient, and friendly service! From the moment we pulled up, the staff was welcoming and attentive, making sure our order was taken quickly and accurately. The drive-thru process was seamless, with clear communication and minimal wait time, even during peak hours.
The food itself was absolutely spot on—fresh, hot, and packed with that signature Nando’s flame-grilled flavor. You can tell they take pride in maintaining quality, as every bite was delicious and cooked to perfection. The peri-peri options were perfectly balanced, offering just the right amount of heat and flavor.
What really stood out was the overall experience. Unlike many fast-food spots where service can feel rushed or impersonal, the team here made the effort to ensure everything was up to standard. The packaging was neat, the order was correct, and we left feeling completely satisfied.
It’s refreshing to see a drive-thru that doesn’t compromise on quality, speed, or service. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or picking up a meal for the family, this Nando’s location delivers every time. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone craving a great...
