Restaurant Review: Ocean Basket Lemon Tree – A Disappointing Birthday Dinner We visited Ocean Basket Lemon Tree this evening to celebrate my mom’s birthday, hoping for a pleasant night out. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations.
Despite it being the 25th—a Monday when kids eat free and a special was running—the restaurant was severely understaffed. Shockingly, only two waitresses were on duty to manage over 15 tables. The result? Long waits, missed items, and a general sense of chaos.
The staff on duty did their absolute best under the circumstances, but it was clear they were overwhelmed, running around like headless chickens trying to serve everyone. It’s incredibly unfair to put that kind of pressure on so few employees, especially during a promotional night when management should anticipate increased traffic.
While we understand that things can get busy, this felt like a complete failure in planning and oversight. It turned what should have been a special celebration into a stressful and disappointing experience.

Read moreWe normally eat out or order our sea food at the Mall of the South Ocean Basket and never experienced problems. On the 14th February we ordered food to be collected at Lemon Tree Ocean Basket. Firstly, when I got there it looked like nobody knew about my order. Secondly, even though the app informed me when I ordered that the food will be ready in 20 minutes I had to wait for another 30 minutes, making it almost an hour. Thirdly, when I got home the family realized that the food is dry, some prawns were burned and the salad especially cucumber didn't look fresh. The results of eating these were stomach cramps for me the next day while my wife had running stomach from early morning after having the meal. My plea is that we paid a lot of money and you need to prepare the food to be juicy and enjoyable, and not affect us badly after eating it. We even thought that maybe you don't prepare the take away like sit in but we'll do sit in next time to assess if the service will improve and if we won't have health issues like...

It is the first time I've asked the manager to cancel our order.
We sat down on new years eve in a rather quiet Ocean basket, roughly 11 tables total, 3 waiters. We sat with the menu for some time, placed our order (drinks, starter, mains). 20mins later our drinks arrived, 20 mins after that our starters, 20 mins after that.... no mains.(we ordered the O.G fish and chips so no fancy weird dishes)
An hour and a half into the sitting we asked the manager to just check on the order, to wich we saw him running around in the kitchen, there was a small comotion which brought us to the point of canceling the mains, we settled the bill for the starters and drinks and went home.
