Wimpy Lemon Tree — Restaurant in Gauteng

Was welcomed well and Themba served us, we made our orders and told him we would later like to have a full waffle to share with my friend. We then had our meal and when we asked for dessert they told us they have washed the ice cream machine and waffle maker, didn't make sense since it's was 4:25pm yet the store closes at 5pm. What made me more angry is that we asked before and they(Thabo, philani) told us it's their Sunday procedure to spring clean and Agnes doesn't wanna make the waffles since she has washed the waffle maker. But how do they close the store while customers are inside and it's not even 5 yet(since they can't make certain things after washing the equipment) . So this means I can only eat what's convenient for them. Thabo even had the nerve to tell me to go elsewhere for dessert. I them opted for a chocolate pudding and the just told me still can't have it coz there's no ice cream. As for them telling us they can't communicate with the kitchen staff because they are older than them. Actually this whole thing doesn't make sense, it felt like we were in the being...

Themba our waiter was a great waiter and his service is excellent.

We told Themba we would like some desert a waffle to be specific after our meal and he went and informed the batista, unfortunately by the time we were done with our meal they told us they washed the waffle machine.

Thabo as the manager came to apologize and told us it's the procedure to spring clean every Sunday around 4:30 and that time it was around 4:25 he told us Agnes has washed the machine and there is nothing he can do he is sincerely sorry but there is nothing he can do.

I asked him that they literally closed the shop with customers inside the shop cz they should have communicated whilst we were still eating to say at 4:30 the machine will be closed we would have ordered there and there. My friend opted for a chocolate pudding and the ice cream machine is also cleaned, like what!

Very disappointed at the manager telling us the staff is overpowering...

The waiters are friendly. But the way this place is managed is a rip off. I took my daughter there for a meal a while back. We ordered a kiddies meal with a toy. Which they billed me for. While waiting for the meal i was told that they have no toys in stock but i could come with the slip and collect on a later date. I aggreed. When the food arrived the portions were considerably smaller than other wimpys serve. And to make matters worse, the manager/owner (a chunky bald man) came to look at our plates and said that they actually gave us bigger portions than they should have. (Love his customer care skills). A few days later when I went to go get the toy I had paid for, i was told that i should have asked for the toy when we left. When i explained what i was told by the waiter, they said to me i should then have opted for the meal without the toy. A friend of mine experienced...
