Parrots — Restaurant in Gauteng

We absolutely loved Parrots. The first time we went was for our first Valentines day and it had been the only place with space. It ended up being an amazing night with fantastic service and excellent food (both my other half and I are foodies). Since then, it's become our go-to spot. When we finally celebrated the launch of our joint venture, it was at Parrots, and at the end of October, I look forward to celebrating our anniversary there as well. With the great variety on their menu, from pizza to burger to sushi and grills, I know they'll have whatever I might want. And with the fun and funny alcoholic beverages, hun won't want for choice, while I get to enjoy their delicious fruit crushers. Icing on top? The music is just soft enough for me to hear all the sweet nothings from my SO, and just loud enough so that no one else will! The point is, if you're looking for a good time with great atmosphere, food and service, you won't go wrong...

On Thursday the 12th of June 2025, we had breakfast at Parrots Kolonade. The food was delicious and the service great. What urged me to do this review was the amazing service we received from the waitress. We were three men at the table of which my guest was as blind elderly male. The waitress immediately noticed his disability and assisted him throughout our visit. She added sugar to his coffee, stirred it and during the meal, told him what she is serving and where she put it on the table. She did not merely show empathy but rendered a splendid service towards us and especially our disabled guest. You have a gem as part of your team, Parrots management! Ordered 2 pizzas via telephone, get there 30 mins later, the pizzas aren't ready. The guy(I assume he's the manager) says they're still in the oven (could have had the decency to say my order wasn't placed due to system mishap or make up a story). I get my pizza 20 minutes later and it's missing a topping(I ordered extra chill on the Parrots Special). The guy takes it back to the kitchen and pastes the chilli on the round shaped baked thing decorated with processed meats and a dash of mozzarella cheese.

My disappointment is not about my order not being processed, but by the lack of accountability and the lies. I personally do not have a problem with the establishment, but I must say, the gentle brother (assumed manager) needs to manage situations better.
