Ate here last weekend and had an overall bad experience. The service was truly terrible. Our waitress was less than interested in serving us (could be that we had 2 kids at our table, and this is obviously not a child friendly restaurant), unfriendly and said the absolute bare minimum to our table.
We waited ages in between interactions with her and nothing was explained or communicated. Meanwhile the waiter for the table behind us seemed incredible - explaining all the dishes, enthusiastic and a massive smile on his face.
When asked for the wine menu we were told there isn't one but that we can order wine by the glass, which we did. When the glasses arrived they were so close to empty that I had to laugh. I called the waitress over and asked how this "glass" was measured, she informed us that they just "poured" form the bottle. I then ask if they do not use a carafe to which she responded no, they just "pour with the eye". They did however take the glasses back and top them up a little. However, a strong suggestion that you use a standard measurement in future.
Once mains were done and our table was cleared the waitress did not return to our table at all. We would have ordered dessert, but she just stood at the bar looking anywhere but in our direction. Management was present, but nothing more than just Present.
We decided to get the bill and just be done with the evening.
For such a hyped up restaurant this was certainly a massive disappointment. I cannot even tell you if the food was any good because the service left such a bad taste in my mouth.
Will obviously...
Read moreMe and my best friend were out on our monthly date whereby we decided to visit Pasta Barra and we were not aware that we had to book first but nonetheless we got space although we were too that at 5 we would have to leave since it would get full with people who booked and that was fine. So we were being served by D(don’t want to spell his name wrong but he did say we can call him D)he was such a nice guy. So we ordered drinks although there’s no drink menu. We also ordered pasta and it was delicious. Chef Noli knows his thing, big ups to him and I liked the fact that he goes around to interact with us as the customers.Well the criticism I have about the place is the way the other waiters were staring at us made us feel very uncomfortable and out of place. Worse we were the only 2 black people so we weren’t sure if it’s because of that or maybe the way we were dressed or maybe they aren’t used to seeing beautiful black girls 😂😂😂(mind you it’s also black guys, so it’s wasn’t racism)The atmosphere gave me , more like an intimate setting, it’s kinda private I think it would be a great place for an intimate gathering with loved ones or friends but it’s definitely a quiet place. And a solo date would definitely do. Overall it was a nice experience although it could have been much more than what we experienced. I like how the guard also waits with you outside until your transport arrives to...
Read moreI ordered the lamb rump with murro potatoes and wilted spinach, the portions were so small. The potatoes were dry and it was like I'm eating lays chips. There was little spinach also. The lamb was burned and not medium well like I had asked but luckily I didn't get charged for that. The bread they gave me before ordering was dry and stale and they serve it with olive oil and a balsamic reduction which I didn't enjoy and didnt finish. I had beef carpaccio roll as a starter and it was nice but little. After that little starter and main I had to order a chicken salad so I can be full but I only ate the veggies, again their meat was off, I didn't enjoy the chicken, no seasoning and it was dry. My drink was underwhelming and the taste was weird so I just watered down my food with water. The service was amazing, the waiter was attentive and kept checking on us, so was the manager. The atmosphere and vibe was cosy and perfect for a romantic dinner of two which worked in my favour. The restaurant isn't aesthetically pleasing, its just cute and cosy but the bathrooms are...
