Piatto Restaurant, Carlswald Centre, Midrand — Restaurant in Gauteng

I recently visited Piatto Restaurant at the Carlswald Centre in Midrand and had an overall decent experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant and the service was good. Our server was attentive and friendly, which added to the overall experience.

The menu had a good selection of dishes to choose from, and I decided to order a steak. Unfortunately, the steak I ordered was not cooked to my liking and was quite tough. I was disappointed with the quality of the steak, especially considering the price I paid for it.

On the positive side, the sides that accompanied the steak were tasty and well-prepared. The restaurant also had a good selection of wines to choose from, which paired well with the meal.

Overall, while my experience at Piatto Restaurant was enjoyable, the poor quality of the steak I ordered left me feeling underwhelmed. However, the attentive service and tasty sides did help to make up for it. If you're looking for a decent meal with good service and atmosphere, Piatto Restaurant in Carlswald Centre is worth a visit, but perhaps try something other...

I ordered a Cake from Piatto Carlsward Shopping Centre, Midrand and it was rotten!!!! I started eating the top part of the cake and it tasted weird with a weird smell. I used the fork to removing the remaining top part of the cake and there was green mold and it had turned brown on the inside. I called the store and spoke to the Manager who had a nonchalant attitude, she said their Cakes had arrived the day before as though that absolved the restaurant of the obligation of insuring they didn't sell rotten, molding food to their customers. She didn't care and couldn't be bothered after all she isn't the one who just ate a rotten, molding Cake from their restaurant. When I got upset at told her that doesn't change that they sold a Cake with mold to me, she remained quiet and said nothing, after about 10 seconds of silence, I said "hello" and she nonchalantly said "I am waiting on you to finish yelling". I went to Piatto Midrand with my boyfriend on valentines day. We sat outside and a waitress came to take our drink orders. When she brought the drinks, we asked to place our food order. It was 19:50 when we placed our food order. After that, our waitress never came back to check up on us. At 21:00 I told my partner that we should leave. We went to the counter to pay for our drinks. We found the waitress there. She was not apologetic at all, the only thing she asked us was "did you get your food" I responded and told her that we leaving and we don't want the food anymore. She than brought the card machine for us to pay.

I was not impressed at all. The service was very poor and I am sad to say this because Piatto is such a classy and decent restaurant that accommodates almost any type of scene.
