I need to leave a review on this place.
I believe they have just acquired the property, so it is bare. I was invited for a friend's baby shower and she decorated the ballroom as per her specs.
The food is traditional African- some of it is a hit (beef stew, hard body chicken, trotters) some of it was a miss (tripe was very chewy, samp was somewhat). It's a buffet but they only displayed food in intervals, so we didn't see or taste some of the food because it wasn't there when we dished.
What I DIDN'T like- the male waiter who was serving us was rather slow but that's not the problem . At the end when we were paying for our drinks he inserts the amount for himself R60, my drinks were R46 in total. When I asked him why he did that, he nonchalantly& smirkingly said he's tipping himself. That is the rudest thing I've ever experienced from a waiter!

Read moreSakhumzi Zoo Lake offers a truly memorable dining experience. This charming, South African-themed restaurant, with its picturesque lake views, boasts authentic character and excellent service. They flawlessly accommodated our work event of 30, serving a delicious and timely feast of traditional dishes. Their sitting arrangement is amazing - comfortable chairs nicely spaced to ensure privacy.
Despite load shedding, they ensured our comfort with thoughtful lighting. The menu featured flavorful mutton and beef stews, grilled chicken, mogodu, and a variety of vegetable and starch options. I couldn't resist going back for more!
Sorry, no pics. Ate up all...
Read moreWe hosted our Women's event at the restaurant. We were a team of 30 women and we payed for the buffet experience. We arrived at the place and my colleagues were already there. The sitting tables were arranged and decorated beautifully. We had waiters and waitresses waiting on us the whole time. They attended to our needs as and when needed. It was kind of qute inside the restaurant especially for a Friday. Anyway, it meant we had the restaurant mostly to ourselves. The buffet was delicious, a real experience on African cousine. The mogodu dish was not so nice though but everything else, including deserts,...
