We decided to spoil ourselves and get SimplyAsia which we thought is the more “luxurious” option out of majority of the chinese food places around but boy were we disappointed. The description of the meals was not justified when we opened the takeaway boxes. Both meals came with cucumber and tomato which is extremely strange for chinese food. I would really like to understand why you serve garnish with chinese food. The tomato wasn’t even great. Looked like something you would take off of your burger at McDonalds. The one meal also came with pickled ginger which I thought would be proper ginger not something cheap that you can buy in bulk. The containers were also not full and for the price you pay at SimplyAsia compared to Kung Fu Kitchen this is just not it! There was barely any chicken in the chow faan and yet again, for the price you pay, I would expect a bit more. The food was overall just bland. The cucumber and tomato just threw us off completely and it wasn’t a pleasant experience. I cannot comment on the service and cleanliness as we collected our takeaway quickly.

I've been to this branch 3 times, each time it took the waiters and staff at least 15 min to tend to us even though there were, at most, only 2 other seated customers. They would watch us come in, seat ourselves and wait while they either, stood, congregated or moved about by the counter. Honestly, we felt rather undermined and unwanted. When someone finally did see to us, they almost seemed apologetic or embarrassed. It was as though they all expected someone other than themselves to serve us and the one to finally do so was embarrassed that no one caved sooner... it wasn't a very nice feeling being there. The food was great though. I've always enjoyed Simply Asia's recipes! You have some of the best sushi!! It's sad that the service and atmosphere at this particular branch was so uncomfortable. It messed up the experience.

I go there every now and then; the food is pretty good with more than enough varieties, and it is easy to find as it has many branches. Once, I came with friends, and one was ordering some noodles. When his food came, he found that there was a chip (which is very visible) in his bowl. So he complained about that and asked the waiter to change to a new bowl. The waiter brought back the noodles to the kitchen and came with a new bowl (this time it still had a little chip on it 😬). My friend was saying to the waiter that these kinds of bowls shouldn't be served to the customer. Anyway, again, the waiter brought back the noodles to the kitchen. And a few minutes later, I saw the waiter get out of the restaurant. After a while, I saw him come back with sets of new bowls. It was a good gesture, I must say! ☺️👌

So sad to bat the service and food quality at this branch has dropped so far it’s given me whiplash. Haven’t bothered with a review coz it’s fast food so meh. But after yesterday’s ordeal and the painfully excruciating phonecall I just received I couldn’t not share my experience. Been coming to this branch since they opened . Definitely a marked reduction in food freshness and quality over the years . Sushi is still subjectively good . Noodles used to be better . And there seems to be no real way to determine how spicy your meal will come even though they ask your spice level preference.

Been using the app for a good few years as well now. Last night placed an order on the app , with the idea my dad would collect on his way home . Placed the order . Poor man had to wait an over a full hour before it was ready. Even though we placed the order while he was driving . I screen shotted the order which included qty and paid amount for him to show the staff , they just brushed him off and told him they were busy and we had a big order . I have personally experienced the nonchalant and non urgent attitude of staff in this store and the extremely slow service in general so was not surprised when he shared this with me.

Then he spoke to the manager and she kept repeating we had a big order - almost to the fact it was impolite - but we pre paid so what could he do but wait . Considering it was 4 mains and 8 pieces of sushi seemed a bit weird . Again this order was shown on screen shot with order number to front of house staff . But no . Just told to sit and wait , they are busy and we are greedy apparently (big order and all that)

By the time food was ready over an hour later he just took packets and left . Only for us to realise when he got home that they had an error on their end and prepared a duplicated order . Big order makes sense now .

At this time it was almost 20h00 and almost closing time , the store didn’t reach out so we ate what we ordered and packed away the rest . The order was still reflecting as “processing “ on my app so I could not flag it . I figured that it was an oversight of the restaurant staff and that was that, as the correct order showed up on my app, we made efforts in store to show what we placed and they did not check vs what was packed into packets .

Only for me to get a call now from the most indecisive, blasé, sounding worker explaining they had a duplicate order issue on their system and then many minutes of silence.. until I asked why she called . Did she not have the nerve to tell me she wanted me to get in my car , come to the store and pay for their mistake . I instead offered they could come pick up the leftovers which are completely untouched sitting in the fridge . Maybe this is the new money making tactic to recoup costs for lost business . Many poor reviews as of late …

This branch has officially lost a customer . I can’t stand the staff and service attitude of non urgency or accountability.

Such a pity

We have been to Simply Asia a few times but this time around they were just not it. We sat and ordered and waited for 40 mins and only then the waiter said they are understaffed and we should be understanding. We said okay and he said it would be out soon. After an hour we decided to leave and the waiter said its ready and only one dish remaining. Not sure why the starters were not served. The food was terrible when it arrived. It was cold and dry. The chicken dishes had just a few pieces of sad chicken. The dim sum was super super dry with what looked like freezer burn. Disgusting, I could not stomach it. Definitely no manager in sight, waiters not concerned to inform or consol the waiting customers. All the customers were very upset and they kept accepting new orders from Uber and mr. delivery as well as dine in without informing them that the wait time would be about an hour +. I could not even take pictures because the food was unappetising. Would like some manager to contact me about...
