Tasty Nation — Restaurant in Gauteng

We finally have a restaurant that offers South African cuisine in the true sense of the word!

After hearing Relebohile from 702 rave about Tasty Nation’s amazing mogodu (tripe) and samp this afternoon, I knew I had to taste it and it was exactly as she described it— cooked and adequately seasoned to perfection!

The service was exceptional, Sboh, Thobile and the rest of the team were friendly and happy to service :-)

I would however recommend that the logo be enhanced- at a glance it looks like a fast food restaurant— maybe an image or two representing the Mzamani cuisine it offers should be added alongside the name.

Walking into the quiet restaurant on the block can be quite nerve wracking, but this one definitely surprised me. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They made you feel right at home and even had great recommendations. I tasted the Gatsby roll. It exceeded my expectations. The sauciness, flavours of the salty spiced fried chips, crispy but soft Russian and meaty patty worked an explosion in my mouth. The pickled onions were a bit overpowering but wow a definite must try.

Placed a order for delivery on Friday and it never came. They did not even have the courtesy to phone and inform us of the situation so that we could make an alternative plan. Very poor...
