I rarely resort to complaining online, but I cannot stay silent about my recent experience at The Rock Kyalami. While the service was pleasant and the waiter was good, the food quality left much to be desired. It's time to document my dissatisfaction, so here goes:
Do yourself a favor and eat in rather than ordering from The Rock Kyalami! I just had to share my frustration after being let down not once, but twice. This time, I ordered oxtail and pork ribs for takeout, and what I discovered upon reaching home was shocking!
After a 15-minute drive, I excitedly unpacked my meal, only to find that the pork ribs were still frozen on the edges. Can you believe it? They were not even cooked properly! 😱 This is simply unacceptable from an establishment that should prioritize quality control.
I've already complained in the past, but unfortunately, it seems like my concerns fell on deaf ears. So now, I'm left with no choice but to air fry the ribs myself, just to make them edible. Talk about poor service and disappointing experiences!
I rarely post negative reviews, but this recurring problem has pushed me to share my dissatisfaction with others. If you're considering ordering from The Rock Kyalami, please think twice! The lack of attention to detail and inconsistent food quality is a serious concern.
To the management of The Rock Kyalami, I implore you to address these issues urgently. Your reputation is at stake, and your customers deserve better. It's disheartening to witness a promising restaurant fall short when it comes to something as fundamental as the quality of their food.
Let's hope that this message reaches the right ears and sparks the necessary changes. As a consumer, I believe it's vital to hold establishments accountable for their shortcomings. Let's hope for improvements and more satisfying experiences for all.

Read moreMy dining experience at The Rock @ Kyalami Corner with their oxtail takeaway left me utterly disappointed and disheartened. I had heard great things about their food, but sadly, my encounter was nothing short of a salty disaster.
From the moment I opened the container, I was overwhelmed by the pungent aroma of salt. The oxtail itself was tender, but any enjoyment was completely overshadowed by the excessive amount of sodium. It felt like I was consuming a salt mine rather than a savory meal.
I tried to salvage the dish by pairing it with mash, hoping it would balance out the saltiness, but to no avail. Even after washing it down with copious amounts of water, the overpowering salty taste lingered in my mouth, leaving me feeling parched and dissatisfied.
I understand that seasoning is a crucial aspect of cooking, but there is a fine line between flavor enhancement and utter ruin. It seemed like the chef must have poured the entire salt shaker into the dish, rendering it inedible.
I sincerely hope that this was just an unfortunate one-time mistake, but it has certainly shaken my confidence in their culinary prowess. As a paying customer, I expect a certain level of quality and attention to detail, and this experience fell far short of those expectations.
In conclusion, I regret to say that I cannot recommend the oxtail takeaway from The Rock Kyalami based on my recent experience. It was an unsavory, excessively salty affair that left me with a lingering distaste. I hope they take this feedback constructively and work towards providing a more balanced and enjoyable dining experience for their customers...
Read moreI had a bad experience here. Very disappointing. The restaurant is in a great location with a lovely set up. My bf an I went here on a Friday afternoon. Firstly our waiter did not introduce him, he was not friendly and he did not inform us of the lunch time special. My moitjo did not have any syrup and a huge chunk of crushed ice was in my glass, I could not even stir my drink. As a starter we had the lunch time prawn special which were Devine. Fresh and cooked to perfection. For our main we each ordered a steak. I requested mine to be medium to rare. I got my steak and it was rare to medium, it was bloody and completely raw, the waiter agreed it was raw. When I got my steak back it was still medium to rare, it was still bloody. The waiter asked me to "request it medium to well done", this is very unprofessional. I informed him I wanted medium to rare as medium to well done is over cooking the steak. The manager came over and asked what the issue was? I explained to him that there is a difference between rare to medium and medium to rare. Rare to med is bloody and almost raw whereas medium to raw is still tender and has pink meat but not raw. It's really not rocket science. My steak returned more medium to well done. My partners steak was cooked correctly as he has requested his medium but it lacked flavor. They have the best salad dressing. Definitely not great...
