We have ordered breakfast as take-away for 4 people. We wanted extra cheese on the roosterkoek which the waitress said that is R30 extra, I laughed and said there is no way I'm paying R30 extra per roosterkoek just for cheese. Never was I rude to the waitress, it is not her rules.
The owner and his 2 lady friends were sitting at a table nearby (the one lady who were smoking liking a steam train making it very unpleasant for us). I said to my friend can you believe it, R30 per roosterkoek!
When the food arrived I've asked for a plastic bag (there were 6 take-away holders), next thing Johan the owner jumps up and said "I AM THE OWNER AND I MAKE THE RULES" and that I've been treating his staff in an ill manner way, waiving his hand dramatically and laughable to say the least. I said no, it is because I've complained about the R30 for cheese that you are having a wobble now. He also said "does Spur give plastic bags!, does Spur give plastic bags! (yes twice and in a very disrespectful tone of voice). Haha, sir, please go visit Spur, they actually do.
I asked the waitress where was I rude to her, she could not answer me and just said she does not want to get involved.
I said to my friend, what rude people! The steam train smoker also tried to jump in on this, shame.
Comment on the food: previously I've ordered chicken mayo vetkoek which was fresh and really nice. Today's roosterkoek was awful, the dough as thick as a brick and hard, could be from the previous day. Your melktert is divine, I am going to miss it as I will never return to your place, never ever.
Dear owner, contain your rude friend and if you are frustrated, don't take it out...

Today my brand loyalty was destroyed.
Given that they have a good menu, they failed spectacular when it comes to customer service, they have lost a customer with a ripple effect that I wont go there again or recommend it ever again. Consider your options carefully if you want to have a nice outing. As a sitdown customer as well, Ive experience their service as slow like they are doing you a service. Servers would typically ignore you, food takes forever to arrive. My suggestion is your money is better spend elsewhere.

Read moreWhat a disappointing experience. Been there before, food and service was not to bad first time. Today 9 of us went there for a after morning christening breakfast after church. After all drinks and food ordered we were the told no orange juice and only mango juice, ordered 2 double portions of jaffels ,no jaffel bread. When the food came out it was one plate at a time with at least a 5min between each plate,scrambled eggs were not scrambled,fried eggs cold,had to send back which took 20 Min to be returned just for one plate. Once everyone finally received their food and had eaten mine had not even arrived when I enquired where my food was I was told it would be there soon, was still waiting even when almost everyone had finished Asked for manager,no manager.
