Absolutely Amazing. That goes for the food and the service from Billy and the entire team.
We decided to book for the 3 course lunch for Mothers day and we were definitely impressed with the food, ambiance and quality. We left feeling happy with tummies full and doggies bags ( obviously). On arrival my mom thought we had brought her to another dodgy restaurant ( as I always do) but to her surprised she loved every minute. We were welcomed with Champagne and the ladies were given a cute packet of Macarons.
We had starter platter Canapés with Caprese Salad, Mini chicken livers in rolls, Kebabs, Melon wrapped with cold meats, Butternut soup, and Garlic and herb Focacia. We polished off everything.
For mains we could select from a variety of options. I picked the ribs.... I couldn't pass that up. The rest of the family took the Lamb Shanks, the Peri Chicken and the Bobotie. There was also pasta, prawns, chops, hake. They really have a fantastic variety.
The food was delicious, only my ribs were slightly dry.
If that wasn't enough to stuff us up, we had to have takeaways as we still wanted dessert.
We were all given the trio of desserts beautifully presented ~ Cheesecake, a piece of Chocolate Cake and a Mini Pavlova. Pavlova was one of the best I've had this year hands down.
They also do some random specials during the week so keep an eye on their social media.

Read moreI went to Vini's with some friends for dinner on a Friday. The place was packed but we were lucky enough to get a seat. There was live music 🎶 and the whole place had a great vibe.
We ordered their Seafood Platter for one. The portion was good and most of the food was tasty, just the prawns weren't so fresh and mostly stuck to their shell.
We also got a medium T-Bone with mash. The meat was really tender and delicious around the bone but over-cooked and tough by the edges. The mash was creamy and the sauce complemented the meat well though.
I ordered their ribs with a side salad. The ribs were not consistent; some parts were really tasty but the edges were too charred to eat and tasted burnt and dry. The presentation could also be better. The salad was fresh and had a good portion.
Lastly, we asked our waiter for a pizza recommendation after seeing so many reviews praising their pizza. We liked it too, but just felt ours was too salty.
Considering how packed they were, I can see how the quality of the food might be affected. I'm definitely keen to come back when they are not so busy.
Update: I went there on Wednesday afternoon for their Eisbein and Ribs special (R99 each). The place was empty and the food was honestly so much better than last time. Each time we noticed a small issue here and there and CHOSE not to complain however our most recent experience may very well be the last. The manager team, a male and female in charge. I don’t know why but they NEVER greet or make you feel warm and invitig. You enter and exit feeling as though you are not welcome there. Zero eye contact and no smiles. We have never been checked on once by management and the sour expressions on their face has ultimately dampened our experience of Vinis. The last straw was when we asked the waiter to pls call the manager as we wanted to find out about Christmas at Vinis. The waiter came back with a business card and told us to email them. Management team, you might be in the food industry but your attention to clients needs a serious facelift! We would have appreciated one of the management team to come to our table and chat to us about their plans for Christmas. We instead get a business card while the manager sits at reception staring at a computer. The lack of friendliness, and zero client centric compassion left us feeling that we will never return and rather book at a restaurant in future that genuinely cares about their clients and future business.
