I would like to complain about the poor customer service I received from Wimpy Hatfield Plaza staff.

They refused to give me the option of takeaway for the FNB Wimpy meal. Mind you it is not my first time redeeming the voucher at the same shop. And everytime I was allowed to the take out option. Even on the fnb T&Cs the sit-in instruction is not mentioned. So you can imagine my confusion.

When engaging with the manager she refused to listen to me. She called another manager who was trying to emotionally blackmail by saying its up to me to reveal the person who allows me the takeout option for this specific voucher and if I do they will be fired. That's all he can do, fire someone rather than give me the takeout option.

When I was about to leave the store without using my voucher I requested for the customer care line, which the female manager gladly told me I will be able to get it online. What followed after was quiet disappointing, as the manager shouted to her staff - " She wants to complain" and the rest of the team followed "Complain for what !".

I have been a customer at Wimpy when the banana boat was still the talk of the town. To be treated like this was disappointing.

I work with customers myself and I would have simply sorted out this issue in this way: "Unfortunately the FNB Wimpy voucher is for sit ins only. I know that you have been given the option of a takeout before which was wrong. I will address that with my staff. I will offer you the takeout option out of curtesy."

I had a moderate-good experience with this specific Wimpy. It’s a public holiday and it wasn’t full. We didn’t wait too long for our food (not more than 10 minutes). If there was any atmosphere music, I didn’t notice it because it was quiet enough for conversations. There aren’t any appealing aesthetics - it suits elderly people or families on the go.

The food was really good (8.5/10). We had breakfast meals and gourmet bar-one milkshakes which were not as thick as I expected it to be. They also had a buy one Bar-one milkshake & get one free special😁!

The service was moderate (6/10). We were not welcomed at the door and allocated a seat, however a waiter did come to attend to us after a minute.
