Springbok Park — Attraction in Tshwane Ward 56

It is a lovely, old park in the city of Pretoria, aparantly 45 years old according to legend. It clawed itself back from notoriety as it was a cruising spot in the early 90s - now you will only find the odd office worker on construction guy relaxing over a lunch break. I saw a nesting pair of fairy flycatchers on several occasions near the small pond. There is a nice restaurant with outdoor seats offering lots of children's activities over the weekend. Lovely place to be and you'll see how beautiful are wild animals and some of them are so friendly. The place is just next to Hammanskraal. The first time I went to Springbok Park it was over grown and unkept, but in the meantime it has been looked after and cleaned up. They are also repairing the water feature, although the park is now trimmed, cut and cleared up it is still home to some of the homeless people who are part of the upkeep of the park.
