Hungry Camel restaurant is a charming, family-run business that truly knows how to deliver an exceptional breakfast experience. This is honestly the freshest, most mouthwatering breakfast I've ever come across. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, and every bite is bursting with flavor. Each dish is perfectly prepared, making every mouthful an absolute delight. If you're searching for a breakfast spot that will leave a lasting impression, Hungry Camel is the place to go!

I absolutely adore this shop! The decor can only be described as Dubai-kitsch meets South African platteland. The owners are really nice and they seem to have a good base of regular customers who frequent the cafe. The food (I had the toast with mince and an egg) was deliciously hearty. The coffee (Peacock brand) was less inspiring. Nevertheless, this is a lovely coffee shop - a quirky little oasis in a desert of generic coffee shops.

Great place, good prices and was helped directly by the owner who runs the restaurant. This means we got decent farm style whole tasting food, unlike your regular franchised restaurants, and good service to go with it.. what more could you ask for.

My all-time favourite in George. Hungry Camel is a local place - the 'Oom' and 'Tannie' are always friendly and not only serve the customers themselves, but also make the food using fresh ingredients. The prices are really good. I would say inexpensive and definitively the best value for money that I've found for a day-time cafe. My favourite dish is the Salami and Fetta Croissant (R36 and it's a filling meal for me), but the beef cheese burger and chips (about R54) come a close second on those really hungry days. If you prefer, breakfast is served all day, and they do include options like building your own omelette, which can make it more carb-friendly. Outside are about three tables which allow for smoking. The interior decor is warm and filled with camel dolls, pictures of camels, and generally anything camel-ish while 80's and 90's music gives it almost an American Diner feeling. My lunch dates are almost always at Hungry Camel, and I've never been disappointed with...

I went to the Hungry Camel in order to have coffee and see a client. This was the second time. There was no one sitting outside when I got there. The first time I ordered a coffee and a juice. When I went to pay the (male) owner told me clearly that he does not want anyone sitting outside, doing business and drinking coffee as that is only for customers eating something. There is no sign indicating this. Then I asked him if one could sit inside and order coffee to which he replied "it is usually full inside" only one table was occupied. (He made it clear I would not be welcome there. The coffee was bitter too. I will not go back...

This restaurant was truly so wholesome! I believe one of the owners helped us with our order, she was amazingly kind and made us feel so welcome. The decor of the restaurant is also unique, very interesting to explore and reminded me of 'home' in the Middle East. 🙈

The variety of food they have is probably one of the most impressive things to me, there is such a diverse choice of dishes that (I believe) speak for different cultures, dishes I find hard to get in the Garden route. Thanks so much for our...
