My recent stay at this hotel was for a business trip. The hotel is centrally located in town and generally easy to find. I did find that the name listed on Google Maps still refers to Protea Hotel which from what I understand was the previous owners. The front desk staff was very friendly and made check-in a breeze. A wifi voucher is offered for which allows for multiple device logins however is limited for which you would have to request another voucher once the data is deleted. My room was neat and clean and included a very comfortable bed, desk area and coffee making facilities. I was disappointed that it did not have a small minibar fridge. The bathroom was slightly dated but clean although I am not a big fan of shower/bath combinations. I find that the screen mounted on the bath to keep water from falling on the floor does not truly work properly. Breakfast was good and offered a decent variety of products which was well prepared and tasted good. A great positive was that a fully fitted gym was available at a sister site down the road which was great if you don't mind driving a few minutes. It is a fairly decent hotel that is well priced and served all the basic requirements for my short stay. As always, this is...
Read moreI'm terribly disappointed in this hotel. ||||I've been staying there for several weeks. A month plus. Paid full rate. No extras included.||||First few weeks went fine. I have the tendency to clean my own room wherever I go or am. So the cleaners here, only gave me a fresh towel everyday.||||Then they started getting used to me being there so long, I suppose. And there attitude started changing, gradually. At some stage I had to ask for a towel and just to properly clean the basin and toilet. As there's obviously no products for me to do that myself.||||So I raised my concern with one of the cleaners. Next day. Nobody greeted me. Rite to the receptionists. The manager knew about this. As I saw her whilst some of the cleaners, combined with other staff members, talked about me and making disrespectful, jokes about me. She laughed. I'm, appalled, shocked and saddened by the fact that they would treat a decent, neat and long staying guest, like myself, in such a manner.||||I would never in my life stay there again. I actually should've demanded a refund especially for the last week, when things were worst than ever.||||Friendly and helpful in the beginning. Soon changes to disrespectful, rude...
Read moreAs much as this hotel was quiet quaint and serene the attitude of the front desk staff buyiswa was terrible to say the least. I booked my accommodation via booking.com in Aug and expected all to be in order and I just checked into here from Premier East London where I had been met with attitude and nothing short of racism, I walked into this hotel expecting to be treated better but it was no different this really dampened my guest and my holiday spirit. From being screamed at and embarrassed in front of other holiday makers is not cool especially since I was querying on what I booked and didn't receive I had no energy to fight and just checked in, the duty manager such a humble guy Rylan apologized for what transpired and actually took us and showed us some nie restaurants down the road. He gave me his GM number and advised he will notify of what transpired till date no phone call. As a big hotel group racism towards your guests should not be tolerated and Premier group or it's CEO MR Nassimov has not reached out to apologize or to right what happened at not 1 but 2 of their hotels. If customers are not valued they will go else where do better...
