Tiago's Durban North — Restaurant in KwaZulu-Natal

I was in Durban North yesterday and decided to pop into Tiagos for what I remember to be a delicious burger.

I was horribly disappointed. My husband and I both ordered the jumbo chicken burger and chips to eat in and a full chicken meal to take away. Firstly we waited for what seemed like forever, they were busy so we understood there would be a delay.

It was only until we saw people that arrived long after us get their food that we realised something was amiss. My husband went to enquire and was told that they mixed up the order and packed everything for takeaway (even though we clearly stated that we would be eating the burgers at the establishment). We waited another 15 minutes (which shouldn't be the case if our burgers were ready for takeaway as the employee stated, surely it would be ready and would take a few minutes to plate). There was no apology.

Eventually we get our burgers and the only thing jumbo about it was the size of the bun. the chicken fillet barely covered half the bun. It was like eating mayo and lettuce with a plain bun.

Fast forward to dinner (full chicken Sunday special) when we thought Tiagos Durban North would redeem themselves and we were disappointed yet again with tastless and saltless, barely seasoned chicken that tasted like the chicken was boiled and a measly amount of basting was added to the skin.

Safe to say I would never eat at this branch again. Worst service (which I would honestly overlook if the food was good) and even worse...

Very disappointed with the food at this branch. Can never match up to meals prepared at Tiagos in Port Shepstone, Margate and Port Edward. Used to be very good after staff were taught by an excellent chef from Port Edward branch, but a month so so later after she left, things went back to square one. A word of advice to the owner of Tiagos in Durban North.... When you have a special, that shouldn't mean you compromise on the freshness of the food. I bought the Monday special about a month ago, plus chicken livers etc... Spent close to R200... Chicken was soo stale... It was hard and chewy... Not enough sauce for one to get the "hot and spicy taste. " You could make out that old chicken was used on the burgers. Your workers must realise that when customers stop buying, your business loses and workers lose out. Treat your customers as kings as we can either make or break a business. I hope the owner reads this review and improve in the prep dept. as you have stiff competition in the area...eg Nandos which always...

A Jumbo Chicken salad for close to R50???? absolutely disgusted in the ridiculous small size of this so called JUMBO salad take away tonight...so disgusted. Called the manager and even she agreed it is way to small as she has seen other REGULAR sized take away salads from other well known places. Nothing was even done to try and fix my disgust. Just a sorry, that is Tiago's JUMBO. I dont even want to know what a REGULAR would be.. Couldn't even speak any further, just took it and left after waiting for so long...on the other hand the burgers others ordered looked amazing but it was my definitely 1st time and...
