I could have had a better experience.
The food was good but the service was very bad.
Firstly, there was nobody at the counter. I approached a lady sorting out some boxes. I smiled the biggest smile I could and friendly asked her if somebody could help me.
She did not like this.
She looked very frustrated with my request, and yelled for somebody to come help me.
About 2 minutes later a trainee came out back, looking very angry that somebody is disturbing whatever she is busy with.
No problem. Be the change you want to see in the world.
I gave her a big smile, and friendly greeted her.
Nothing.
She just stared at me blankly.
Okay, maybe they had a chewing out from management and were not in a friendly mood.
I accept defeat and give my order. I pay and receive my receipt.
When I sat down I noticed they gave me the wrong receipt and wanted to correct it with them. Only problem is trainee went to the back again. So I was left with box packer. I stated that there was a problem with my receipt and before I was even done, she yelled at me saying there is nothing wrong and it's correct.
Oh okay. My bad then.
I sat back down. And they called out a number to be collected. I had no way of knowing if was mine so I stayed seated. They called again and I assumed it's probably mine.
I gave them the wrong receipt. This was a wrong move as well because boy, was I in trouble.
I was used to this by now so just accepted my fate an apologised profusely.
So Steers Cradlestone, I would like to apologise for bothering you with my request for food. I won't do that again.
Also, your eco friendly paper straw doesn't mean much in my plastic cup it...
Read moreThis is my second time ordering at the cradle stone branch, and I chose dine-in service this time. Initially, the staff indicated they did not offer dine-in. They subsequently provided plates and inquired about returning the chicken due to uncut pieces, citing a lack of specification on my part. There appears to be a system discrepancy, possibly due to ordering automation. Upon returning the chicken, the sauce was haphazardly applied, rendering it inedible. Consequently, I purchased burgers instead. While the staff were courteous, their service was inadequate, suggesting a lack of system understanding; they claimed the system lacks dine-in and chicken-cutting specifications, despite clear options within the system. My prior positive experiences with other steers chicken highlight the significant disparity in quality. I am extremely disappointed with Cradle Stone Steers; a first-time customer ordering the full chicken meal would likely never order it again. Fortunately, prior positive experiences at other branches prevented a completely negative impression...
Read moreCradlestone mall branch: Wow. Disorganised, unfriendly, unprofessional service from staff. SO SLOW to receive order. Technology is not working, nor process, order shows as 'now ready' on the screen means they are now only starting on it. The attitude received upon questioning where my order disappeared to is appalling. Really the worst Steers I've tried out. In my opinion best avoid this one.
Update: On arrival home, the food quality turns out match the disappointing experience. Photos of what they sell as 'king steer burger' received included. Rather head down the road to Wilgeheuwel branch, worth the drive. This one is not worth the Steers brand name.
Update 8Mar: Store manager phoned me to apologise and vowed to rectify their issues, asked that I pop in next time I'm in the area. Did this today. She wasn't there, though the acting manager offered to re-do the order and had a long discussion on staff issues etc. Here's what was given as replacement burger. Maybe I'm...
