Wimpy Cradlestone Mall — Restaurant in Mogale City Local Municipality

I mean, not the worst place, but I used to go to Wimpy years ago and have fond memories of their unique style of food and experience. Today, after a long time of not eating at Wimpy, I told my wife we should try it as I miss their wonderful burgers with relish and chips.

To my dismay, their patties have been swapped out for the fast food MacDonald's kind of patty. It's no longer that fresh patty with that wonderful relish and fresh bun that used to make one happy when eating at Wimpy. The bun was also just bland and dry. Hardly any sauce on the burger. The cheese was processed cheese. I was basically eating a replica of a Quarter Pounder burger from MacDonald's.

We tried other food there too, but not even the coffee is what it used to be. Just like everything else in SA, Wimpy seems to be going down the spiral as well and will just become another fond memory of what SA...

Very disappointed with our experience at Wimpy Cradlestone. My daughter’s burger arrived with a visible bite mark in it — something completely unacceptable. The staff were friendly and apologetic, and offered to replace it. She asked for a chicken and cheese burger, clearly stating she didn’t want any peri-peri sauce.

Unfortunately, the replacement was even worse. It arrived as a plain bun with a dry piece of chicken and a blob of mayo (not even spread out). There was no cheese, no lettuce, and to make matters worse, the mayo was burning hot — clearly peri-peri, despite her request.

She couldn’t even finish it. We expected better quality and more attention to basic...

I received exceptional good service this Saturday morning at Wimpy Cradlestone. Annah was my waitress and she made sure that I feel welcome and at home. She was friendly advised me to download the Wimpy app and explained in detail how to do it and how to use the app. She constanly checked on me with a friendly smile. Annah managed to restore my faith in good service again, because you just dont get that nowadays. But she proved me wrong.
