Sad that the helpfulness of Romans Pizza Hillcrest 🍕 could not be emulated by Pietermaritzburg.
As a vegan of 15 years, Hillcrest accommodated my dietary requirement with flexibility and understanding for 4 years, swapping out the cheese on a vegetarian pizza with either avo or olives 🫒 AT NO EXTRA COST.
But not only does Pietermaritzburg flatly refuse the suggestion referring to rules, but theyre too busy to answer my calls to discuss. Neither Dean the Franchisee, nor Mandy the HR-marketing specialist were available.
Times have changed but Romans Pizza Pietermaritzburg isn't keeping up. I was too hungry to wait for either David or Mandy to answer my calls, so forked out an extra R22 for a portion of olives, while losing approximately R20's worth of Mozarella worth about R20.
Dean, Mandy - please consider vegans as a potential market segment. While we may not be a significant block of consumers, we are often a swing vote consideration when groups of friends eat out.
Rather than waste money on expensive faiux cheese, or I'd ask for is a simple swap out.
While there could be many reasons why not to implement a decision to serve vegan swapout options, we only need one good reason to accommodate us.
Lister very polite and apologetic, but F for fail for vegan ingredient swap out options by...

This is one of the larger Romans Pizza outlets in the city and has more seating available than some of the other options. It also doesn't necessarily feel like you have to take your food and leave as the seating is also quite comfortable.
They also open earlier than some of the other Romans Pizza options which is a...
