Panarottis Whale Coast — Restaurant in Overstrand Local Municipality

The Whale Coast Mall Panarottis service was honestly the worst service I have ever experienced. I don’t normally complain but this was just not acceptable. We booked for a birthday party, I phoned and the manager confirmed the booking, even asking if they can setup the tables like they normally do for birthday parties, and i said, that will be so kind if they can do that. Arrived for the birthday party and we had to wait outside because they weren’t sure if the reservation was for a birthday party and they didn’t set the tables! Secondly, we had to send back pizzas because they forgot some of the toppings on the pizzas. Thirdly, the waiter didn’t know what lemon water was. We asked for lemon water. She said they don’t have that. I asked do you have water, she said yes, i said bring that with lemon - lemon water! Fourthly - on the website it states for a birthday party you can purchase the kiddies aprons for R20, we asked if we can buy it, everything was in order. At our way out, we were told we need to give the aprons back. It’s not for sell at their restaurant. Please then state when i book for a birthday party that nothing is for sell at this restaurant. STATE IT! 5. We asked for the birthday party kiddies package and the waiter wanted to charge us separately for everything instead of the R99 special. I had to asked the manager to correct that. The whole birthday party experience was awful from beginning to start. With the manager only saying : “there must have been a misunderstanding” that’s it!. Our bill was high because the food is really expensive (but the food was incredible) and i even gave the waiter more than 10% tip because that’s just how i am, and this is the way we...

We visited the branch last night. What an absolute dismal experience.

Very beautiful laid out restaurant however it does not take you long to realise how unorganized and mismanaged it is.

We requested a table for 4, we were seated in a very odd corner with a table that clearly had no space in the corner. We eventually moved ourselves to another table as my daughter kept on being knocked with elbows or waiters trying to squeeze past this tiny space. I could not find our waiter an got up cleaned a table myself and moved my family to it.

We were met by a friendly lady explaining that the kitchen has a backlog. We stayed thinking well it can't be that bad, they aren't even fully booked out. Considering it's pay day for most people surely management would have planned for extra hands on.

We waited 45 min for a bottle of wine and 2 latte's. We had to explain the latte order twice. We requested ice for our wine and I'm sure she is still looking for that ice because it never reached our table.

We waited another hour and half for 1 pizza. I was stunned at the level of service in this place. We saw our waiter twice, no second drink orders or offering a quick starter before the food. People don't mind waiting when the service is excellent. No up selling skills, no service skills, no management informing or checking on quests.

We then said enough is enough and wanted our bill so that we can leave, that was another dismal experience, they couldn't find our bill and we had to tell them what we had.

We walked across to simply Asia to enjoy a proper meal with great service and we left the mall knowing panarottis will most definitely not...

Good evening - We were so exited to hear about Panarottis opening in our town again. We knew you were going to be busy and planned to visit you sunday evening for a quick pizza with the kids all excited we are off - We were unfortunately disappointed when we were showed away at the door at 7pm - We knew you close at 8pm because you advertise that you close at 8pm - The way the lady at the door just put her two arms in the air with a cross motion.. this was also disappointing, I don't easily write negative reviews because i know how hard it is to do business these days with load shedding etc. In this case you use the malls backup generators so that can't be the excuse, The kitchen surely doesn't close 7pm and the doors being open till 8pm and then to have your best staff member or just someone with better communication skills to offer a alternative or excuse would have help. Unfortunately after 28 years in Hermanus I have seen many restaurants close its doors through small stuff like this, I know this must a new exciting adventure for you and trust me i know what it takes to start a business, I truly wish you well and hope to be back at some point. Sorry that it had to be leaving you a single star ⭐ but if i don't maybe someone won't and just not go back or even worse tell others, and they don't support your business.
