Today I decided to dine at John dory's at uShaka Marine world with my family and it was the absolute worst decision I made, we entered the restaurant at 13h00pm. On arrival we requested seats on the outside to which we were denied due to the waitress been racist, she asked us to wait and and gave the vacant table to another African family that entered about 30mins after us.
We then waited another 15mins till we get a table outside, upon getting a table to dine at after an hour, we still waited 1 and a half more till we receive only our drinks. During that time I had spoken through to 4 waitresses and to dismay all gave me the same response "we getting it" this went on till my family and were done waiting and left.
I would never recommend John dory's at Ushaka Marine world to anyone, the poor service, racist staff, and uncouth behaviour is an absolute no go zone.
We were extremely unhappy and unaccomodated for... It was as if no one was willing to acknowledge that we were there as customers, our orders were given in and we also needed to attended to.

Read moreAbsolutely terrible service today at John Dory's uShaka. Arrived at at around 13h45 and sat in the area at the front as this is a smoking area. Had to call the waitress to please take our order at which time I told her we had to back at uShaka by 3pm for the show. Ordered 4 drinks (a coke, a slush puppie, and 2 mojitos) Waited more than half an hour for these. Food (chicken strips, chips and jalapeno poppers - quick and easy) finally arrived at around 14h45. This was plonked on the table with no care, no apology for the wait, and no condiments. Glass of water my mother ordered never arrived. I had to get up to stand at the front desk to request to pay my bill to try get to the 3pm show on time. Unfortunately paid by Zapper and this automatically added a 10% tip, there was no service to tip for and I wouldn't have if I wasn't in a hurry. Unfortunately did not have the waitress introduce herself so do not know her name. Will never go back or recommend. Having worked in hospitality myself I would strongly suggest better staff training and a stronger...
Read moreHad an early supper here and halfway through our meal a bird decided to poop on our table , shocked and disgusted I went to a manager to explain what had happened and the response I got was "these birds are giving me a hard time and we aren't allowed to kill them" no apologies just that. I was then escorted back to the same table by a lady who clearly didn't know what to do , she then says she will replace one meal however everything was contaminated so I said no all of it, we then had to wait, only to receive half of the meals back (less than what was left on our plates) ,the wrong drink was replaced (ordered a death by chocolate shake and it was replaced with a normal shake) . At that point I was done with this place and wanted to be out , asked for the bill and was then charged the full amount of R420.60. I do understand that it was not their fault but the way they handled the situation was unprofessional and unpleasant.
