After sitting down at another restaurant, waiting for a table to open at the Falcon Falls Spur in Clearwater Mall, we immediately jumped for a table when it opened at the Spur - it was my daughter's birthday and she chose the Spur above any other choice she had in the mall. We sat down and placed our order - I asked the waiter 3 times to make sure my husband's steak as well as mine was MEDIUM done. We waited 30 minutes for only our drinks and then a further 90minutes for our food to come. My husband and I have four children. Do you know how difficult it is to entertain 4 hungry and thirsty children??? For 2 hours!!!! When the food eventually came (after asking where it was several times), the steak, we repeatedly asked for to be MEDIUM done, was served cooked so well done, that it was DRY!!!! I complained to both the managers and they sent my food back, and said that we wouldn't have to pay the bill. When we were ready to leave, the waiter came and we had to pay the FULL bill.... In the mean time, there were 2 different families who sat down next to us, placed their orders and had their food, while we were there waiting. My daughter accidentally forgot her handbag there when we left, so they phoned me to come fetch it and I was told over the phone that when we come to collect the bag I should ask for the managers, because they want to do something special for me...... again,,,, NOTHING!!!! They just handed me the bag, turned around and left. All empty promises!!! I am very disgusted and disappointed with this Spur. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. They will definitely NEVER see me, my family or my...
Read moreI was in the mood for a Spur brownie so visited the Clearwater branch on Sunday, 12 June 2022. I waited for 10 minutes without any sign of a server. I flagged a server down and ordered a half portion brownie and a cola tonic and lemonade. The brownie arrived cold with no chocolate sauce (refer to picture). So I asked for the manager. Pat (the manager) confirmed that this was not how they served brownies but attempted to pull the plate away when I said that I wanted to take a picture to report this to Spur's head office. He then sat down (without an invitation) in an attempt to pacify me. I requested the bill so that I could leave. He asked if there was anything he could do to make things better but I said no and again asked for the bill. He left and returned minutes later with a new brownie (made correctly this time which shows that they just didnt care enough about my initial order) which I declined and for the third time requested my bill. Five minutes later, another manager, whose name I didnt get (it was Beauty, I think) came to the table to pacify me. At this stage, after 15 minutes of being made to feel like I was a hostage, I stood up and shouted that I need my bill and would like to leave. At this stage, the manager said that they wouldnt be giving me a bill so I left. Forget the poor service and unappetizing food, never before have I felt harassed by management at a restaurant. I'm not a person who creates a scene but today I felt like I...
Read moreInitially our meal was a great meal until my husband and I were treated like criminals for the branches failure to update their card machines.
Pat (the manager) was so arrogant and refused to even look at the deduction that went off from our bank app! His exact words were " I dealt with this all the time, so you will have to wait till payment goes through". We waited for a good 2 hours with a niggly and hungry new born because of stupidity and arrogance.
My husband then called the bank, the bank representative asked for the manager to explain what we were trying to show him..... only then was he complacent and able to listen.... the bank sorted it out after we were kept waiting 2 hours after we were done eating and paying all cause their card machines have a problem, even the bank confirmed....
I'm disgusted to say the least. It was our first time a going out with our 3month old.... seeing as it was a celebratory dinner we chose spur!. Never will my family or extended family support that branch again. What's sad is we go to that branch religiously for about 3 years now. The way we were treated was beyond derogatory.
Not even an apology for the charges we incurred trying to call and prove what we were trying to tell that arrogant manager.... never know maybe he owns the place!
Anyone who goes... rather pay cash tto avoid what we went through cause yoh... I'm so...
