A Once-Favorite Now in Decline

My family and I have been loyal patrons of Simply Asia for over two years, consistently enjoying their flavorful dishes and attentive service. The waitstaff were always prompt and accommodating, ensuring our dining experiences were pleasant.

However, recent changes in management have led to a noticeable decline in service quality. The new staff members seem untrained and inattentive, often struggling to take orders accurately and providing slow service. This shift has been disappointing,especially considering our long-standing appreciation for the restaurant.

Despite these challenges, the kitchen staff continues to deliver delicious meals, with the chefs maintaining the high standards we've come to expect. The sushi remains a highlight, showcasing the culinary expertise that originally drew us to Simply Asia.

Ordered some sushi as a starter only to be told 20 later that the sushi chef is not there he is shopping somewhere in the mall. Decided to then skip starters and gi straight to the main meal. All of a sudden 2 minutes befire our main arrived we were surprised by the sushi starter we didn't really want anymore. I ordered a duck dish 540 on the menu for R129. Duck was tender with giod flavor but noodles was bland and portion size was really small. Overall dish was mediocre in flavor but then the big surprise was a prawn shell in my duck dish. I informed the waiter who then went to inform management. No one came to apologize or offer to have my meal remade. This totaly grossed me out just to think about how a prawn shell ended up in my duck dish. Un hygienic and durty kitchens... I will not recommend going here unless you are going to be happy with a starter sized meal thats contaminated with products you...

Sushi and the food that did eventually arrive was excellent as always but the service was absolutely horrendous. Waited for over 45 minutes for a bowl of plain noodles for my young one, 50 minutes for my older son's meal and then 5 minutes later the waiter asks if that's everything, completely having forgotten about the two meals we ordered for ourselves. Not surprising given the tiny slip of paper he was writing the order on. Service was a huge let down and spoiled what would've otherwise been a fabulous evening. After over an hour our meals arrived and my wife's was the incorrect meal. At that point i requested that they remove those from the bill and I settled what we'd had.
