🥩 A Sizzling Experience at RARE Steakhouse, Clearwater Mall! 🍷🧀

Our visit to RARE Steakhouse was nothing short of a culinary adventure. From the moment we entered, we knew we were in for a treat. It is such a beautiful restaurant 🍽️🍷

To start off, we shared a bottle of Landskroon Sauvignon Blanc, setting the stage for an evening of indulgence. 🥂

We started off with the Fried Camembert starter, a true delight for cheese lovers. Imagine deep-fried Camembert cheese topped with crispy bacon - a crispy, gooey, and savory masterpiece, with bursts of flavor 🧀🥓

For mains, I opted for the Penne Alfredo Pasta with chicken, and it was a symphony of flavors. Creamy and rich, I added a touch of garlic and Parmesan cheese to make it truly my own. Each bite was a delightful fusion of textures and tastes. 🍝🧄

However, the star of the show at RARE Steakhouse is undoubtedly the steak. The Jalapeno, Chutney, and crumbed Camembert sirloin steak was absolutely amazing. The 28 day, wet aged, marbled chargrilled steak was perfectly prepared. It was perfectly cooked to a mouthwatering medium, and crowned with luscious Camembert. The jalapeno chutney sauce added a delightful zing without overwhelming the senses. 🥩🌶️

Throughout our meal, the service was good. The waitstaff were not only friendly but also highly professional. It's clear that RARE Steakhouse values its patrons. 🙌

We're already looking forward to returning to explore more of the menu. RARE Steakhouse has certainly earned a spot on our list of favorite dining spots, and we can't wait to savor more of their culinary creations. 🍴👏

Food & Variety

For vegans, it’s often a challenge to find a satisfying variety at steakhouses, but Rare Steakhouse does a great job with its vegetable and salad bar. Everything is beautifully presented without being overcomplicated. Meat lovers, like my husband, have no shortage of options either—the selection is diverse and well-prepared.

One small suggestion: adding a vegan-friendly dessert option beyond the milk tart or ice cream would be a welcome touch. It would ensure that everyone gets to enjoy a sweet ending to their meal.

Service & Atmosphere

Service at Rare Steakhouse is just as impressive as the food. Our waitress, Mercy, was attentive without being intrusive, clearing plates at just the right moments. She was knowledgeable and very friendly, enhancing our overall dining experience.

My companion and I have been wanting to try Rare out for quite some time and decided a birthday celebration would be the perfect ocassion.

Rare can accommodate a lot of people. The area we sat in had 18 tables and that wasn't even the half of It.

The decor is very nice and typical of a steakhouse. The vibe is very nice even though we were there late afternoon/early evening and it was still very quiet.

Our server, Nicholas, was on hand at all times. He was very polite, friendly and willing.

My companion ordered a bacon, avo & feta medium rare 200g sirloin which came with a side of chips. The steak was cooked to perfection and very tender. The strawberry milkshake my companion ordered was also very good.

I ordered the calamari with chips and creamed spinach. The spinach could have done with an extra wash but it certainly was not unpleasant. The calamari was really, really tasty. It had a creamy sauce with it.

The prices are not unreasonable. For the above with 2 additional cold drinks and the tip it came to R472.
