Wimpy Retail Crossing — Restaurant in Roodepoort

My breakfast experience at this Wimpy was delightful. The service was impeccable, and despite the public holiday rush, it remained swift and efficient. My food was presented beautifully, and the beverages arrived perfectly hot. The staff were attentive, consistently checking to ensure everything was satisfactory.

However, a notice concerning access for patrons left a negative impression. It appeared to suggest a strict one-hour time limit for dining, even while working, to free up tables for others, with an indication that time would be monitored. Such a restrictive policy seems impractical.

As a local resident aware of the area's power challenges, I was initially inclined to award a 5/5 rating. However, as someone who frequently works from cafes and restaurants, this policy is a significant drawback. Consequently, I'll settle on a 3/5. Mugg & Bean, in comparison, offers a more accommodating environment.

Management should seriously reconsider...

We were kindly received, but the table we were shown to sit at was smeared with mustard marks, and we had to ask the waitress to clean it, because she wanted to put the menu right on top of the marks. The waitress immediately wanted to know what we wanted to drink, but we asked for a few seconds to go through the menu first so we could decide. However, we made up our minds and closed the menus and waited to be served. However, we sat with the menu on the table for some time, ready to order, but received no further attention from any member of staff or waitress. The Waitress who gave us the menus kept moving around our table to serve others but didn't even bother to come and ask if we were ready to order. Later we got up and walked out. This is really not good...

Horrible service!!! All I asked was to sit by a plug to plug-in my laptop and the waiter could not even explain that there is a 1 hour limit on the plug on weekends and all plug seats were full and I asked to keep me one when it opens then they give it to other people as I didn’t even exist hen got told that not allowed on my laptop or to use the plugs by the manager as I run a company my work never stops and wimpy cannot accommodate for that.

To me this wimpy is all about making money of its costumers and not about that homey feeling you get when coming to a wimpy.
