With this being my local gym, I frequently use the Kauai after my workouts. The service is usually nothing to write home about but today a young lady really rubbed me up the wrong way, enough for me to write this.
I know for a fact that it probably is unusual for a customer to ask for âan extra well blendedâ smoothie but SPD is a real thing. I cannot make sense of feeling a slimy banana in my icy smoothie so I ask for it to be well blended and rather have it consistent than to risk running into lumps in my mouth which can make me lose my appetite/throw up.
Seemingly not knowing good service apparently, when I asked for that special request with the lady at the Pay point, she turned to her colleague and said in vernac, âyou heard the request right? Extra well blendedâ, her colleague asked her to repeat and she said âPeanut butter bomb, extra what whatâ - showing me that properly communicating my order was not a priority of hers. Even if I didnât have sensitivity to textures, a preference is a preference, just do as I ask, itâs my smoothie at the end of the day, not for US to share. Itâs literally the same concept as a preference on how well my steak should be done.
Anyway, her tone also had a bit of attitude, maybe cause she thought weâre the same age but none the less, she needs to learn proper service. And if she doesnât know of the request being made, she should call a colleague who will understand me better since she couldnât care any less - she made sure I felt that. Perhaps I caught her on a bad day but she sure put effort into making me feel I was requesting the impossible.
But also, if you canât fulfill my order, tell me you canât and let me go to another Kauai where they know exactly what I mean.
Thank you to the colleague who not only made my smoothie exactly how I can consume it, but I heard her say to this lady at the till point; âweâre at work, letâs just do what customers ask.â
I donât need them to put smiles on their faces but that young ladyâs comments/overall negative interaction was unnecessary and uncalled...
Read moreThis Kauai has to be the trashiest Kauai ever. Firstly the employees are incompetent! What ever happened to training your employees?? Everyday without fail when I get buy stuff using a vitality voucher they tell me they do not accept those. They seem to discover every day that they accept vitality voucher, even then they get it wrong, I end up paying more here for the same items than I do at other Kauai branches. Secondly the food is always below par. I ordered a smoked trout poke bowl on Uber eats and guess what? They didnât bother putting the dressing, the meal goes well with the dressing! Well atleast I had the option to complain on Uber eats, I hope you lose more money than mine because Iâm not the first person to complain and it doesnât seem like anyone cares enough to do anything about the situation. I wonât touch on how rude and lazy your employees are. If they are not on their phones or gossiping then they screaming at each other having conversations between an employee at the till trying to assist you and one on the kitchen....

Today I waited patiently as the guy on duty was busy making smoothies for 2 people that ordered before we got there, I thought okay, he is busy he will assist now, he kept looking at me but didn't say a word, after finishing both smoothies it was 7:07, I asked him if he was the only person on duty, and if he can maybe take our orders. he said he was the only one but they are closed now anyway. I asked him about the time he said they are open until 7:30 but takes last orders at 7pm. When I pressed on the matter he said he will help me when he is done but made it clear its a favor as they close at 7pm. I did not like his attitude and we left.
Is it just me that assumes the gym closes at 8pm they work until 7:30 then clean until 8 and go home?
I do have the gents name, and I hope that the owner teaches him something about...
