Wimpy — Restaurant in Somerset West

I wish there were negative stars available. Received a plate 'mega grill' whereby only the chips was edible. Chicken was so dried out you could see it was old. Steak or sausage was not any better. I was so shocked by the bad service we received as the sit down area was extremely empty and wasn't as if the waiters or kitchen staff were too busy to notice that the food was not of a standard to serve to a customer...let along expect them to pay for it after the plate was sent back with almost eating anything of it because it was so horrible. To top it off the bill of R600 was paid and no one made an apology for the food that was served. Wimpy is consistent with the quality and taste of their dishes. When I need a quick bite and nice coffee, Wimpy is the automatic choice. We were immediately seated and drink orders placed. Very friendly and attentive waiter. She repeated our order like it should be. The same for our main meal. Did not wait to long for our food. As I said.... the same order the same taste, that is Wimpy's trademark in my book. Food was delicious and coffee just the way I like it - strong. What I like is the fact that I can say how strong my coffee should be. Thus far no disappointments. Tables, cutlery, condaments and chairs were nice and clean. Decor in line with Wimpy's theme. We paid by card at the table and left as happy customers. Keep up...

Upon being shown to our table and given our menus. I and my 3yr old daughter waited for someone to attend to us for over 5minutes. I then signaled to the lady who showed us the table. She got to the table and just asked what we will have. No greeting, no introduction whatsoever, now I understand it is very busy and she is not a waitress, she was probably assisting. I am just assuming she is a manager as she didn't bother introducing herself. So I ordered and when my plate came it looked as though my 3yr old was practicing how to dish. I have not seen her or anyone else come to ask if all is okay with my meal. I am still seating here waiting for someone to start thinking of this...
