RocoMamas Somerset Mall — Restaurant in Somerset West

I usually order via Uber Eats, but today I decided to visit the store to place my order in person. Honestly, I’m so glad I didn’t opt for a sit-down meal because the experience was absolutely appalling. From the moment we arrived, we were met with an unfriendly and unwelcoming attitude from the waiter, Spooky 98. Barely a greeting.just a blunt “Table for two?” We responded that we wanted takeout, and she simply handed us a piece of paper without any further assistance.

After placing our order, my boyfriend noticed the Rocko Blingz Limited Edition meal, which we hadn’t heard about before. When he asked about it, the waiter ignored his question, handed over the card machine, and said, “I’ll explain just now.” That made no sense, what if we had wanted to change our order? If you don’t enjoy working with people, then simply don’t do it.

We originally planned to split the payment, but since she never offered the option, I asked about it. That seemed to annoy her even more. At that point, we just wanted to pay and leave. My boyfriend tried again to ask about the Limited Edition meal, and she rudely snapped, “As I’ve been saying, I’ll explain it now now.” That came across as very unprofessional.

After paying, I asked for the restaurant bill (not the card receipt), and her attitude got even worse. She dismissively told me she was keeping it. By then, I had enough of the disrespect, I work hard for my money, and I expect at least basic courtesy when paying for a service. I firmly asked if she would give me the bill afterward, and she finally said yes.

When our order was ready, she simply placed it on the table and walked away without a word.

Now, onto the food, big, big slay! The Slacker burger was juicy and delicious, though I feel the Double Cheese could use more cheese sauce rather than mustard. The Reg Cheese Fries were great as well. It’s a shame that the service doesn’t match the quality of the food. We would have loved to try the Limited Edition meal, but the disappointing attitude from the staff made that impossible.

It truly felt like our presence was an inconvenience, which is disappointing when we’re simply trying to enjoy a meal. It’s sad to see the place so empty, but after this experience, I completely understand why people prefer ordering in rather...

I've placed orders with Roccamamas multiple times, but this time, we decided to dine in at the restaurant. We were particularly drawn by their renowned milkshakes, so we kicked off our lunch by savoring a chocolate milkshake and a peanut butter milkshake, which lived up to our high expectations.

Following the delightful milkshakes, we indulged in their scrumptious jalapeño bombs. When it came to our main course, we spotted limited edition burgers on the menu and couldn't resist. These burgers proved to be absolutely exceptional, and the accompanying shoestring fries were a great choice as well.

As we planned to conclude our meal, the manager inquired about dessert. Initially declining, he intrigued us by promoting their waffles. He even went so far as to offer to pay if we found them unsatisfactory. We couldn't resist the challenge and ordered Nutella and banana waffles with ice cream. The waffles were a revelation—fresh, crispy on the outside, and irresistibly fluffy on the inside. Kudos to the manager for such clever promotion.

This experience left us thoroughly impressed, and we'll definitely be returning to Roccamamas...

GREAT EXPERIENCE OVERALL.

Rocomamas has been advertising a couple of specials, and this week I've tried all of them, coming back a third time again today. And honestly, my experience kept getting better, from the service, staff, and food.

The establishment around 5 or 6pm starts to get really busy but the front of house staff are such superstars, attending to everyone as much as they can. Mickie and Heinrich were so attentive to us in finding the best seating situation for me.

Food was amazing. Drinks were amazing, I'd recommend the espresso milkshake. And of course their Jalapeño cheese bombs are the absolute best. Honestly, such a great and affordable experience. Will definitely be going back.

I highly recommend this establishment, they've always been on top of their game every time I've visited.
