Tallahassee Spur — Restaurant in Somerset West

I haven't been to a Spur in years, so naturally I was pretty excited to go get some steak sauce all over my face. A bit of driving and 3 Spurs later(their locations are less than ideal), we arrived at this one.

Firstly, the server that was meant to be our waitress showed up after our drink order was already taken, no biggie, people get busy. Candy straw and bubblegum milkshake for me, a whiskey for my partner. All went well.

My partner orders, nachos with no guac(because he's allergic to avos), what arrives? Nachos WITH guacamole. When he says to the waitress "Please take it back, I'm allergic, so they can't just take it off, it has to be remade." This server really parroted back "oh it must just be taken off?". I order, chedamelt steak with mushroom sauce. Firstly, mushroom sauce doesn't have pepper corns in it, unless I ordered a pepper sauce. Their menu is indicative of them being separate sauces, perhaps I'm the fool. What really got me was the processed cheese that "melted" in whole chunks.

Then, I order a regular coke without ice. What arrived? Ice.

Overall, not standard Spur quality when it came to the food. I could have gotten better service from some street vendor(and the food would have been better).

As normal one had to beg for service. Sat 20 minutes before asking manager for waiter. Lady waiter came and we asked for 2 wines glasses and ice as we had our own wine. 10 Minutes later a male waiter came and asked if he can assist? During the time of him getting our glasses the same lady waiter came to us and asked if we need anything? We asked her what happened to our glasses and ice. We got that Eish look!!! Food eventually served, AND my wife found battered fish in her fried onions. Again called for a manager. " sir that is not possible we do not make fish and onions together in the same oil." No offer to replace the food or subtract from bill. Absolutely nothing. Please hear me, I am not looking for free food, all I am looking for his Real Spur Food with good fast efficient service. Spur Head office should investigate this franchise as the poor service is a regular thing. Very slow service, waiters unable to get orders right the 1st time. I am a business man traveling in SA on a weekly basis, and make use of Spur on a regular basis, but this Spur....? Hope you have...

I took my son out for a treat, we were served quickly. Drinks came quickly, food came out at a decent time. The food was absolutely delicious. Here is where my complaint comes in, the waitress did not once come to check in on us, nor were we asked if we would like another drink. When we were done eating, I stacked our plates. She came over and did the bill within minutes. I wrote my tip X30.00, when she put typed in the amount she typed X39,00. When I told her she typed the wrong amount, she says to me it is fine!!! I told her no it is not what I wrote on my receipt. And then proceeds to tell me it looks like a 9, no way!! If that was a 9, then my bill would have been RX3900. I tipped less than 10% because, we were not checked up on during our meal, nor were we asked if we wanted more drinks. She just assumed, gave the bill, took more than 10% of the bill for her tip, when her service was shocking. I will NEVER visit...
