Bootlegger Stellenbosch — Restaurant in Stellenbosch Local Municipality

My family and I have gone to bootleggers for years, and have probably been to every one at least once, and I can say that this bootleggers is one of the worse ones. Service is slow, and if you’re sitting outside or in the courtyard you can forget about service entirely as it seems you get forgotten. This year I’ve only been three times, and each time I left early and ate somewhere else.

Today I ordered a juice as I sat down, and proceeded to wait 20 minutes for it with no one else coming to my table until I flagged them down to order food and ask about my drink. The time before this I tried to get my waitresses attention for 15 minutes before giving up and leaving without food as she was too busy having a personal conversation with a customer two seats away from me.

Do not come here unless you have half a day to waste around. One should not have to wait an hour for a simple juice...

Date: 9 March 2019, For a Saturday breakfast, I went searching stellenbosch for a place that’s sociable and inviting and ended up at Bootlegger, quite central. There’s variety to the breakfast menu which is amazing. I had the Classic Benedict, delicious and honestly more than I could eat. I paired the breakfast with their home made berry ice tea.There was a very fresh and authentic way in which it was served. The berries and tea were separate and you had to combine the two into one glass. All-in-all it was a great experience. The place has a very nice aesthetic and atmosphere going for it. However, when I with some friends the service was plainly put, negligent. Our waiter didn't introduce himself, we asked for water as we sat down and never got it. When we ordered the waiter wasn't writing down the order and looked like he wasn't paying attention really. The manager was nice about the whole situation at least. On the other hand, I understand at more fancy/hip places prices are expected to be higher, but the Bootlegger burgers we bought was a glorified big mac meal for over twice the price of one. The food is overpriced for its taste...
