I recently had the pleasure of dining at Java Cafe/Bistro in Stellenbosch, and I must say, their burger left a lasting impression on me. This hidden gem of a cafe/bistro truly knows how to create a phenomenal burger experience.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. The menu boasted a wide variety of options, but my eyes were immediately drawn to the burger section, and boy, I'm glad I made that choice!
The burger I ordered was nothing short of perfection. The patty was cooked to juicy perfection, bursting with flavor in every bite. It was accompanied by fresh, crispy lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and a medley of delicious toppings. The brioche bun was the ideal vessel, perfectly toasted and adding a touch of sweetness to the ensemble. I must admit, it was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time.
What truly sets Java Cafe/Bistro apart is the attention to detail they put into their food. Each ingredient tasted incredibly fresh, and the burger was meticulously crafted with care. It was evident that the chef takes great pride in their culinary creations, and it truly showed in the final product.
The portion size was generous, leaving me feeling satisfied and content. The presentation of the burger was visually appealing, and the flavors were well-balanced. The accompanying fries were crispy and seasoned to perfection, making for a delightful side dish.
To top it all off, the service was exceptional. The staff members were not only knowledgeable about the menu but also passionate about the food they served. They were more than happy to provide recommendations and ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of excellent.
If you find yourself in Stellenbosch and craving a mouthwatering burger, I highly recommend visiting Java Cafe/Bistro. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this place is an absolute must-visit. The combination of delectable food, friendly service, and cozy ambiance makes it a standout choice in the area.
Overall, I can't praise Java Cafe/Bistro enough for their incredible burger. It was an unforgettable experience, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Don't miss out on the chance to savor their culinary delights - you won't be disappointed!

Read more24/02 had dinner at this location for a friends birthday. When I arrived I asked the waitress if they serve any non alcoholic cocktails , she stated virgin Mojito and strawberry daiquiri. I ordered the daiquiri. Table of 7 and I ordered my food last. I asked her opinion on either the wrap or the short rib, she advised short rib, we spoke a bit on it and how it’s served etc. So I went with her recommended choice. Everyone’s food came, except mine. Waitress comes and asks me what I ordered and told her I ordered the beef short rib. She went straight to the computer , came back to me and told me that for some reason the kitchen hasn’t prepared my meal. So everyone at my table had their meals prepared and not mine. One of my friends had ordered the steak that is accompanied by a glass of wine, asked the waitress for it, he only received it after his meal was done because he prompted her on it again after he was done with his meal. My other friend ordered the wrap that comes with crisps, you’d think they would atleast be warm but they were iced cold. Weird side choice using packet crisps as a side, you would assume in a restaurant it’s being made fresh. Waited a good 20 minutes for my meal, last one to be eating at the table. The only thing that was well prepared on the dish was the mashed potatoes. Short rib was tougher than it should’ve been and the vegetables still tasted raw. Half way through my meal I ordered a coke from the waitress, she said no problem, bill came after my meal and never saw my coke. When the bill came I saw I was charged R70 for a virgin strawberry daiquiri, which was the cost price of an alcoholic one. When I asked her why I’m paying the same price for as the alcoholic one, she stated that’s how they are trained to do it. Then I asked her if she had forgotten to order my food or if it was actually the kitchens fault she proceeded to blame the system they work off of. She was probably one of the worst waitresses I’ve had, kitchen standard was not up to par, and being the only one without a meal and it being the systems fault sounds like a terrible excuse for her incompetence. First And last time I’ll ever dine at...
Read moreI recently visited Java Bistro and, unfortunately, had an extremely disappointing experience. I can only give this place 1 star, primarily due to the concerning behavior of the owner. The owner displayed narcissistic and egotistical tendencies, treating both customers and staff with the lowest level of respect imaginable.
To make matters worse, the restaurant seems to be dealing with a cockroach infestation. The seat cushions were dirty, and the overall cleanliness of the place left much to be desired. The poor quality of the menus further added to the negative ambiance.
I specifically ordered a vegan chocolate shake, only to discover it contained honey, a clear case of false advertising. This lack of attention to detail and disregard for dietary preferences is unacceptable.
Given these issues, I regret to say that I will never consider returning to Java Bistro. It's disheartening when poor management overshadows what could have been a pleasant dining experience.
2nd review: I appreciate your response, but it's important to clarify that expressing dissatisfaction through a review is not illegal; it falls under the realm of freedom of speech. Every customer has the right to share their honest opinions based on their experience. Your assertion that it is illegal seems to be a misunderstanding.
It's disheartening to perceive such a response, as it reinforces concerns about the owner's approach to criticism. Healthy businesses value feedback, both positive and negative, as an opportunity for growth and improvement. I hope you reconsider how you handle customer reviews and take them as constructive input rather than viewing them as personal attacks.
Maintaining an open dialogue with patrons and addressing concerns can significantly enhance a restaurant's reputation. I believe fostering a culture that welcomes feedback can contribute positively to the overall experience for both customers and the...
