First off, when I am in Stellenbosch again, I'm going to make a point of it to go dine at Craft Wheat and Hops again. I admit, it was a hot day, I had good company and we were hungry and Stellies was relaxed so we walked and chose the restaurant basically on the agreement that we both liked the vibe. I made a wonderful memory there with an amazing friend of mine. And that does not take away from the fact that this restaurant has an absolute allure, an edge, a comfortablilty , a positive atmosphere . The setting and flow of the seating from outside to inside the restaurant offered so many viable options to simply know that whatever the choice, it was the place to be. We sat outside, the umbrellas and trees kept us Relaxed and so did the fabulous and unique Gin cocktails served here. Our waiter was fantastic. He was real, and genuine. Friendly , funny and professional. It was a pleasure to experience such kind service, for lack of better word. I'll skip to something I found profound, which is the clear and outstanding succession of not only the restaurant but the people who work there. I had absolutely no complaint, in fact I was more than impressed at how well we were treated. There is a good vibe, there's a flow, it's a wonderful spot that I now know and cannot wait to go back again. It felt safe. The cocktails were awesome. Craft has a type of sophisticated yet keep it real feel. And when I say real, let me move onto the menu. Look, I'm only one person, but just by eating a burger ( which , by the way, I could cut all the way through, separate it and actually see all the details of what was in it, how magnificently it was crafted and created. The burger hit my own personal top charts, it's the best burger I have ever had.) The meat was fresh, and perfectly cooked, the balance of the entire dish was perfect , in fact I had to cut myself off from finishing it there- it is the type of dining that allows one's tastebuds to delight , even after a bit- when the sublime taste lingers like that , you know it's unique. Not that I stepped into the kitchen, but in my mind, as I was appreciating the dish, I thought to myself about how fluently and gracefully it was made- almost like a small masterpiece created by a talented kitchen and chef no doubt. It was clean even though it had a rustic look, a type of elite yet equal and non threatening look, as you walk in , you can note the attention to detail all contributing to the instinctive draw towards dining there. And one of the biggest compliments I can give is that if I am about to leave the restaurant, after paying, etc, and I have a whopping big smile on my face and further on am talking about it for over half an hour at least after I am gone, still smiling in gratitude, then I take my hat off. I never dined there before, but now that I have, I almost have that "I feel at home/I feel I belong" feeling which inclines me to lean towards becoming a loyal customer. It was simply wonderful. No doubt about it. You cannot go wrong when in Stellenbosch -and you want to go somewhere with real sustinance, a surprisingly good value for money, a good time, quality experience, good memories, lasting impressions and to be treated with kindness and authenticity- just tick it off your bucket list and walk in to Craft wheat and Hops and have yourself an incredible time with positivity and great memories as you walk away. I highly recommend this restaurant. I have no...

Read moreDissapointed in the service...waiter brought nachos to the table for the kids, said nothing...didnt warn the kids that the bowl is extremely hot. My daughter burnt her lip, after which we told the waiter you should warn your guests...she just stood there, said sorry and didnt offer to help or assist. We had to ask for ice. Mext up the manager came to fix their printer that is next to our table, after struggling for several minutes and making noise, we thought he would acknowledge us and apologise for the inconvenience....totally ignored us and kept opening and closing the printer and eventually walked off...Not one single word to say sorry for the noise. Waiter Zandrih...absolutely pathetic service.
Steer clear...
