Our evening was a bit disappointing. The service started well with the waiter attending to us, but as the night progressed we saw less and less of him. The food, like the service, was underwhelming. The starter (fried camembert) was served with a lavish amount of leaves which led me to believe it was rather a salad than what was stated on the menu. The Gnocchi for mains was just about the highlight of the evening. Although the substantial portion was tasty, I felt that the chef wanted the dish to be too many things. I rather prefer simpler dishes. This brings me to the low point of the evening. The baked lemon desert was one of the worst deserts of my life. The pastry had an odd taste (maybe duck fat was used - definitely a no-no) and all the ingredients, from the sesame seeds to the buttermilk to the lemon pie, clashed with each other.
