I Love Waffles - Quayside — Restaurant in Western Cape

I emailed them weeks ago regarding the incident that happened on the very first and last visit to this place, they didn't even bother to get back to me, I wouldn't recommend anyone to go here the waitress was completely rude treating us like we were stupid and she was annoyed with us because we just tried figuring out who wanted what in our circle, the order wasn't even big literally 5 hot chocolates and 1 waffle, and had the fine cheek to bill the wrong amount, I asked her for the receipt because I want to see how 5 hot chocolates and 1 waffle works out to 450 when the amount should be 350, she refused to give me a receipt, she didn't like the fact that she was serving coloureds, we were not even being rude to her and never even took long to make that simple order, I asked for the outstanding money back and they haven't gotten back to me. I can't believe the service I received here with my family. Even if it was 10% tip for the amount of people it wouldn't make sense because not everyone ordered something and what is 5 hot chocolates the bill was over big enough to charge us a whole 150 tip????

Honest and real review is what shall follow. Although it was not open for a few days as per their signs, when they did open we treated ourselves to some gourmet waffles for lunch while on honeymoon. Incredibly clean inside, though outside in the kiddies play area (Which is closed due to coviid) we saw a high chair with some old waffles bit and toppings on it. However, this did not deter us from enjoying some sugar packed and deliciously sweet waffles. My wife had a Nutella and Brownie half and half combo and I had a Honeycomb crunch. I could not finish my large portion served with amazing chocolate ice cream but I did smash it when I got back to my room for midnight snacks! The service was a bit slow in terms of getting drinks and food but in fairness, there was only one chef and one server and I think they did really well in terms of managing everyone's expectations. I only wish there was a branch in JHB so my wife would stop reminiscing on the pleasure she experience when devouring, in one sitting I might add, her...

Drove all the way from Table View to try these waffles and boy, was I disappointed. Flavourless and the whole setup seems careless. Asked for the syrup to be served separately; picked the bottle up and there was syrup all over my hands. I requested to have half of my waffle to go - the container returned to me had chocolate sauce all over it. The chocolate milkshake tasted like they served melted chocolate to us - when the waiter cleared the table, we said he can remove it, we'd pay for it, but won't be drinking it, the owner asked the waiter why we sent it back. The waiter responded with that we found it too chocolately - to which the owner responded "well, what did they expect? It's a chocolate milkshake" That attitude is really not necessary - we didn't even complain! The ice cream served was more like sorbet and had melted water crystals all over it that melted onto my waffle - gross. Utterly disappointed. What a waste of money,...
