Daegeon Myeongga — Restaurant in Busan

As pork soup is one of the specialty of Busan city, my family and I were looking for a restaurant that serves this dish and we love this place! My family also loves their Bossam. Their pork soup is good too but you need to season it yourself with the available shrimp paste, bean paste, and red pepper paste as its a bit bland. Once you season it to your likings, I highly recommend you to enjoy it with rice (included when your order the pork soup) and the all-you-can-grab noodles. Yes, you read it right, there is a stall to refill your noodles, sauces, and korean banchan. This place is actually kinda a self serve restaurant. The server will just take your order and deliver your food to your table. But they won't help you to refill your banchan or water. Also, they won't let you in if you come at 9PM although google says it is closed at 10PM. When my family came back for the second time to eat here, we arrived at 9.05PM but they don't let us in :( Pretty sad that we can't enjoy their bossam anymore before...

The pork soup here is truly delicious. The harmony between the meat and broth is excellent, and it’s the kind of dish you can easily finish in one sitting. However, the service could use some improvement.

Entrance guidance It’s unclear whether you should line up or tell a staff member your party size upon entering, which made the entrance area feel a bit chaotic. New customers and those leaving often crossed paths, causing brief confusion. A simple sign or a quick greeting from the staff could easily solve this.

First impression Instead of a warm “Welcome,” the first staff member we encountered immediately asked, “How many people? What would you like to order?” This came across as a bit rushed. A softer, friendlier first greeting would go a long way.

Serving style When the food was served, it felt mechanical—like placing dishes on a conveyor belt—without even a “Please enjoy your meal.” A small smile or a simple phrase would have made the experience feel much warmer.

Attitude during additional order Partway through, I asked if they had Coke Zero because the soup was a little rich. Before saying they didn’t have it, the staff member’s expression seemed to convey “this is bothersome,” which left a poor impression. They may not have intended it, but customers can sense this from facial expressions and tone.

Overall The food is excellent, but with clearer guidance and warmer customer service, I would be much more inclined to come back.

돼지국밥 맛은 정말 훌륭합니다. 고기와 국물의 조화가 좋아 한 그릇 뚝딱 비우게 됩니다. 다만, 접객 부분은 조금 아쉬움이 있었습니다.

입장 안내 가게에 들어서면 줄을 서야 하는지, 직원에게 먼저 인원수를 말해야 하는지 알기 어려워 입구 쪽이 혼잡했습니다. 새로 들어오는 손님과 나가려는 손님이 뒤엉켜 잠시 혼란스러운 상황이 있었는데, 간단한 안내 표지나 직원의 한마디면 충분히 개선될 수 있을 것 같습니다.

첫 인상 첫 응대에서 “어서 오세요” 같은 환영 인사 없이 곧바로 “몇 분이세요? 뭐 드실 거예요?”라고 물으니 다소 급하게 느껴졌습니다. 조금 더 부드러운 첫 인사가 있으면 좋겠습니다.

서빙 태도 음식이 나올 때 기계적으로 놓고 가는 느낌이었는데, “맛있게 드세요” 한마디만 있었어도 훨씬 따뜻한 인상을 줄 수 있었을 것 같습니다.

추가 주문 시 태도 국밥이 다소 느끼해 제로 콜라가 있는지 물었는데, 없다는 말보다 먼저 ‘귀찮다’는 인상을 주는 표정이 보여 아쉬웠습니다. 본인은 그런 의도가 없었을 수 있지만, 손님은 표정과 분위기에서 차이를 느낍니다.

총평 맛은 확실히 뛰어나지만, 접객이 조금만 더 친절하고 명확해진다면 재방문 의사가...

One of best hearty soupy meals we’ve had in Busan (and Korea). Loved that the broth/soup had a light flavour, which we could add seasonings to. Staff couldn’t speak English well, but were constantly looking out for us, and demonstrated the seasoning. Portion’s kinda large for us petite ladies/aunties, quite a pity we didn’t get to finish everything but 100% worth every cent if you manage to. We arrived at 11.30am local time, store was probably half-filled at that point. Close to noontime, a waiting line/queue was forming...
