This was the best meal I had in Busan. The day started off wandering around the main part of Jagalchi Market. However the dying fish in tanks turned my girlfriend and I away. We came across this restaurant with lively displayed seafood and visible prices. Enticed by the options and people already inside we decided to have a meal here. The Ajumma quickly tried to take our order. We wanted the sea bream saengseon-hoe. However the Ajumma tried to kindly, but strongly, suggest we order the flounder. After a few minutes of confusion, due to the language barrier, we stuck with the sea bream. The order came as a set with some seafood items, kimchi pancake tempura and all the ssam ingredients. To our surprise the Ajumma came back with additional items: spicy grilled eel, baby octopus and of course flounder. Our concerns and confusion were gone once she said it was "service". The food was amazing. All the sea food tasted fresh. The flounder she gave us was amazing and prepared in a gochujang ice bath. I can see why she tried pushing it but we still preferred the sea bream overall. The best part of the meal were the two pieces of spicy grilled eel. Overall great food around 100,000 KRW. Almost too much food because we couldn't eat the rest of the day. Great service too, even with the language barrier. Would recommend and go again.

Update after 1 week later: 2 out of 3 of us were having food poisoning after having dinner there. We are still suffering from stomach discomfort, cramp, bloated, diarrhea one week later. We had to skip some of the important events or meetings due to unwell. The seafood was served to us must be rotten. The rating has to be downgraded. =========================== I'm writing to share my experience with the seafood hot stew we ordered. Unfortunately, the quality of the seafood was not up to par. The squid had a distinct frozen texture, and the abalone didn't taste fresh. We also felt that the service could have been better. Even though we ordered a smaller quantity, we would have appreciated the same level of attentiveness and respect. I began feeling unwell shortly after eating the stew and am concerned about potential illness. I hope you will take this feedback constructively to improve the quality of your dishes and service.

Absolutely amazing experience! This restaurant on the Busan fish market is a true gem! The owners and staff are incredibly kind and welcoming – their positive energy makes you feel right at home. The service was absolutely top-tier, with every little detail taken care of. And the food… there are simply no words. Every dish was divine – full of flavor, freshness, and authenticity. From the delicious banchan to the rich seafood main dishes, everything was perfect. We also had traditional Korean rice wine (makgeolli), and it paired so well with the meal. If you’re in Busan, don’t miss this place! Highly recommend it – thank you for an unforgettable meal! (Photos attached to share a glimpse of the incredible dishes!)

This place was just terrible!! Jagalchi has become a complete tourist trap since i came in 2017 and this place really put the last nail on the coffin for me. The hostess spoke some English and based on other reviews it seemed ok but we were served over priced under-seasoned seafood. I ordered the fried fish meal and my fish was not freshly fried but oily n double fried. Our seafood pajeon was just eggs, green onions, and squid. We were grossed out n didn't want to eat it so they made another less eggy version for us with the previously mentioned ingredients that was oily, eggy, a lil raw, dense, n again just not pleasant and charged us 30000 won! This bad meal cost about 120000 won. Don't fall into the trap, you have...
