1 star for food - mediocre donuts but would have been a 3 if service was better. 1 star for service - would have given 0 if i could. There were two of us but we only ordered 1 drink. I was told that only one plate is given per drink, and was pointed to the notice that was entirely in korean which i couldnt understand but staff told me “one plate one drink” and i was okay cos i thought we could share the plate and utensils. Then halfway through, another staff came and aggressively told us “take out cup no. Take out cup go” and i asked if i had to leave. And she asked to change our cup to a glass cup and i said ok (which idgi cos that plastic cup is alrdy dirty) she also had her hands on our table, was very frustrated cause we couldnt understand each other. She then came back and told me i had to buy 1 more drink cos theres two of us, which i did. Im unhappy because idt she needed to get aggressive with me, i felt confronted when she had her hands on my table and leaning forward (as if she was talking to a friend??) and knowing that this is a tourist area, i expected her to have a bit of patience when it comes to language barriers? You also have to return and separate the cups/utensils/plates and you would have to google translate those because they were in english either. Staff just turned a blind eye when we stood there trying to figure out on our own. So ya, moral of the story, order one drink per person or takeout.
3 stars for ambience because while they have clear windows for the view, music was so loud you could...
Read moreRandy's Donuts in Jeju is an experience that left me with mixed feelings. As someone who isn't particularly fond of overly sweet, floury, or doughy donuts, I was cautiously optimistic about what Randy's had to offer. Sadly, my visit didn't quite live up to the hype.
The donuts, while not terrible by any means, came off as just okay. They were far from extraordinary and didn't offer that wow factor I was hoping for. The flavours were pretty standard, and I couldn't help but feel that I could find similar or even better donuts elsewhere on the island.
One of the most disappointing aspects was the potential need to wait in line for these donuts. If I had queued up for an extended period, my disappointment would have been amplified. Donuts should ideally be a delightful treat, and waiting in line for a lackluster experience would have been a real letdown.
In summary, Randy's Donuts in Jeju might appeal to those who have a strong affinity for traditional, simple donuts. However, for someone like me who was hoping for a unique donut experience, it fell short. The donuts are just okay, and the hype surrounding the place doesn't seem entirely justified. If you're in the area and there's no line, it might be worth a try, but I wouldn't go out of...
