Sukseongdo Aewol — Restaurant in Jeju

Food is great but service ……. They forgot about our hot pot rice order. We kept waving them over but they told us to wait and we finally managed to ask about it twice and they said it was coming. We finished our whole meal and the rice was still missing so we decided to leave. And when we were about to leave after finishing our meal in 90 minutes they said the rice would be ready in one minute. The server insisted that rice usually takes that long and was totally insistent that it was normal timing and there were many orders and told us that it would be served since we ordered. Note it’s a weekday and the place wasn’t even full. It was only after I asked if they had forgotten it then he admitted to it and then had a total change in attitude then finally apologized. My second time to Sukseongdo but first time for this branch. They are definitely famous pork bbq on Jeju-do. Their pork are good but I feel that service and restaurant ambiance varies from branch to branch.

We arrived early so there was no queue. Pork order need to be made right away before seated. As foreigner without English menu, it's a bit of a challenge but staff are helpful. Fyi, Chinese menu is available.

Their aged pork are delicious although I enjoy the pork neck than their signature cut as...

Pork was satisfactory. Nothing to boast about. Service was horrendous when I asked why my bill was not deducted with the 30,000 KRW I paid to CatchTable app as deposit for my reservation.

When he printed out the receipt and I checked again, the waiter with spectacles annoyingly and impatiently said "ok? Ok? Bye bye", and rushed off.

Very rude attitude to a foreign guest especially since the restaurant popularity will attract tourists.

I will never recommend anyone...
