Haeyuldam — Restaurant in Jeonju-si

We stumbled across this highly-rated BBQ place while searching for kbbq in Jeonju. The place was interesting as it was not like a conventional kbbq place where the air and the floor were filled with grease; their dining area (level 2) was separated from the food preparation (level 1). They have a minimum order of 2 per food item, so we ordered 2 portions of the skirt meat, without knowing what to expect. The waiting time did take a while, but it was as expected from peak dinner time and they provided complimentary drinks that were in an icebox as well. The service was great as the service crew was constantly looking out for unattended customers, and they grilled and cut all of the meat for us. They even had a how-to-eat recommendation printed out, so we can refer to it while we pair the side dishes and the meat accordingly. We found the place on our first night in Jeonju. We loved it so much that we came back for our second night in Jeonju.

This is amongst the best BBQ we’ve had during our vacation in Korea and dare I say better than the Black Pork BBQ we had in Jeju.

The dry aged pork skirt was just amazingly tender and flavourful. The red pepper paste marinated pork was also a great way to finish the meal

Give their noodles a try as we thoroughly enjoyed the perilla oil makguksu.

The owner (Yool) and his young team take great pride in their food and this shows off in the quality and taste of the BBQ meats, noodles and side dishes which my family loved.

Sadly we leave tomorrow but we will remember Haeyuldam, the pork skirt and the friendly team which made our trip to Jeonju...

If you’re looking for an unforgettable Korean BBQ experience, this place is a must-visit! The meat was absolutely incredible—so juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Everything was explained clearly in English, which made the whole dining experience easy and stress-free, even for first-timers. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed.
