After a long and thought-provoking day at the DMZ, we were craving something hearty and comforting for dinner. That’s when we found 한강집 생태 on Google Maps—and what a great discovery it turned out to be.
This place is known for its saengtae maeuntang (spicy cod stew), and it hit the spot perfectly. The broth was rich, spicy, and deeply flavorful—exactly what we needed to warm up after a day out in the cool weather. The chunks of cod were fresh and tender, and the stew was generously filled with tofu, shellfish, and radish. They even added gonnie (cod milt), which gave it a unique depth and texture.
The restaurant itself has a clean and slightly modernized feel, but it still retains that cozy, no-frills Korean vibe. It was clearly popular with locals, which is always a good sign. We got seated quickly, and the service was fast and attentive.
We didn’t plan to have garlic-marinated pork neck, but saw it on the menu and gave it a try too—it was so soft and flavorful, especially paired with a bowl of rice and a sip of soju.
What made this meal even better was that it felt so local and authentic—nothing touristy, just great food done right. If you’ve spent your day exploring places like the DMZ and need something to bring you back to warmth and comfort, 한강집 생태 is a...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, and we couldn't have been happier about it. The pork belly was incredibly tender, juicy, and flavorful. The fish soup was equally delightful, offering a comforting and flavorful experience.
Beyond the outstanding food, what truly stood out was the exceptional service we received. Despite not speaking a word of Korean, the staff members were incredibly helpful and attentive. They continuously replenished our supply of seaweed and kimchi, knowing that our kids loved it. Additionally, they kindly cut the pork into smaller pieces for our youngest child. We were deeply touched by their level of care and service—it was truly remarkable.
To add to our delightful experience, they even surprised our children with complimentary yogurt, which made them incredibly happy. For tourists who may not speak Korean, the menu is straightforward, with options such as pork belly BBQ and fish soup (both spicy and non-spicy).
We highly recommend this restaurant for its exceptional food, attentive service, and genuine care. It's a hidden gem that exceeded our expectations, leaving us with fond memories of our...

I'm wondering, is there anyone there who knows speaking Greek? Of course not. So, why did you have to make fun of me on our last night in Seoul because I don't speak Korean well? All the people in the whole country were so happy that i spoke korean, except you. It's...
