First of all, to all of the pretentious reviews from the non-native ex-pats or visitors, it’s literally NY pizza NOT in NY. You can never get NY slice anywhere other than NY. I mean we all know that the water is just different there. People are out here complaining about finding authentic NY slice halfway across the world and leave poor reviews to satisfy their egos. Get over yourselves. ☺️
For anyone looking for a legitimate slice, this place has been the closest and best slice I’ve had since we’ve arrived a few months ago. It reminded me of home (US) and it was fantastic. Let’s be real, all good pizza joints are all rinky dink hole-in-the-walls.
We ordered the half-and-half New Yorker (supreme/the works) and Margherita and Buffalo wings. The pizza had a nice crust with a nice chew. Crust flavor is key and it satisfied our craving. The toppings were sufficient and the MOST important thing that differentiates between American pizza and Korean pizza - it was NOT sweet and it does not have corn on it. Listen, I’m Korean American but I do not understand why Korean people like their food so sweet when it’s not meant to be sweet. And what is the obsession with corn in literally everything? It drives me nuts. The Buffalo wings reminded me of the old American Deli / Sports Wing Cafes days. Tasted like how Buffalo wings are supposed to tasted though I do prefer my wings a little harder (crispier).
Anyways, all that to say that this place is solid and thank you for reminding me of home.
Read moreWe’ve been coming here for years. If you want authentic NY style pizza in Seoul, this is the real deal. A couple of years ago, I’d have probably given four or even five stars, but I think three is more fair: it meets expectations, doesn’t fall short but also doesn’t exceed them. Service is decent, could maybe be a little more proactive. They have a nice range of pizzas available in two sizes. You can also split pies half and half if you can’t make up your mind. Quality wise, taste and texture are decent. This isn’t artisanal pizza but it’s far better than what you’d get at any of the chain places. I think one area where they could really improve is the drinks. I saw the iced tea was sweet so I went for the lemonade only to find it’s got a cider (in the Korean sense) base, so far too sweet for me. Surprisingly, their beer offerings are also pretty sad. Craft beers are common these days and any respectable pizza joint should be stocking a selection of them, not Bud. That aside, this fills a niche with a decent product and I’m sure...
Read moreThe pizza is very good for Korean standards and similar to what you'd get in the states, but don't expect it to be spectacular. The service isn't great at all. Let's just say there's no flexibility. For a place that purports to have authentic NY style pizza, they don't seem to care about giving you that kind of dining experience.
I went with my partner for dinner to a largely empty restaurant and the staff said we had to sit next to another occupied table despite they're being many empty tables. They sat us next to two men who later invited 4 of their friends, cramping 8 people around two tables for two, instead of moving us or the other group to one of the many empty tables around the restaurant. Yeah the pizza was good but I don't know why anyone would want to...
