I very much enjoyed staying here while visiting Seoul. First of all, the hotel is clean which is very important. The rooms are small but I wasn't in my room much anyway. I am visiting from America and was glad to find a 110v outlet in the room so that I could plug in my curling iron. There's already a hair dryer in the room so no need to bring one. I was able to charge my Samsung phone into a USB port by the bed also. The heat, air and light controls are at the head of the bed so you don't have to leave the bed to change the controls if you get too cool or too warm. There are shelves in the room for storage as well as a small, open closet for hanging clothing and storing shoes. There's also a tv in the room to enjoy watching from bed. There's a small safe and refrigerator as well. Each day bottled water was left in the fridge. I received a call each day to ask what time I needed my room cleaned. If you just need towels you can let them know that and they will bring those and leave the room alone. In the shower were large bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. All were very nice smelling. The room has a drawer with a toothbrush, toothpaste, disposable razor, small folding plastic brush and 2 packaged q tips. The hotel is close to anything you want or need in the city. Plenty of restaurants and various stores/shops are nearby. As far as safety, your room key is a card that won't allow you to use the elevator to go up to the rooms unless you swipe your key. Plus, Seoul seems very safe so I was never afraid in the least. There is a spa in the hotel but I can't comment on it as I didn't visit it. Everything in the hotel is modern and in good working order. I would definitely plan to stay here again if I visit Seoul again...

Dormyinn in Gangnam is a 5 star hotel for business travelers. It is not hotel for events or leisure, but it can be a hotel for a weekend-spa-cation. I've traveled to Seoul a dozen times or so for work and play. Many of these trips were long 2 week to 2 month trips. And I've stayed at upwards of 30 hotels in Seoul. I've gone back to Dormyinn in Yeoksam, Gangnam-gu I think six times. It it my favourite hotel in Seoul when I'm staying alone. I've stayed at a couple Dormyinns in Japan too. The chain is one of my favourite for business travel. I think it should be good for solo travelers and couples too as I see many other guests of these types too. The breakfast is a Japanese business style buffet with a Korean twist. The spa and sauna is quiet and private. The hotel has its own soaps and provides washcloths. There are smoking corners and ergonomic pillows. The front desk are multilingual and wear buttons showing the languages they speak. The hotel also serves late night ramen. The atmosphere is quiet and private just like the spa and the restaurant staff especially show excellent hospitality. There is no business facilities at this Dormyinn except for a public computer and printer. The laundry services are efficient and relative the Shilla cheap. What's most important is the consietency of all the services, even the food and rooms. The hotel is located a 4 minute walk from two metro stations right in the center of Gangnam. There is a food street less than one minute walk away and more within 5 minutes walk. There is a gallery one block away. There are upscale restaurants as well as very local restaurants around the corner. It's a quiet hotel in a very...

I would suggest you take a taxi to this place else you will be pulling your luggage up and downslopes from which ever station you choose to come from. Hotel is fantastic and service is of japanese standard if you know what i mean, as expected from a japanese brand. By facilities this is the best hotel i stayed in seoul (out of 3) and including those in busan (out of 6) . Hotspring was very well equipped even if its abit small, but adequate. Comes with hot bath (40c), two silk bath (38c), suana (80c) and cold pool (16-20c) which many places does not have . Complimentary use as well unlike sotetsu in busan where it's payable and open to public use for 9000won as well. The best part if you are traveller for more than a week is the laundry room in the public bath which only charges for the drying. You can run both cycles and if you take a long time alternating between hot and cold in the hot spring, you do not have to specially wait for your laundry cycle to be done. You can even see from the TV in your room how many machines are used and available before heading down. If you need firmer extra pillows they are available at basement as well for "rent" (free). Pillows were quite small though, and bed is my only complaint and its too soft and oftern me and my wife and up rolling to the center (forced cuddling? Hah....) I'll book two single beds the next time we are back instead unless im alone. Complimentary ramen noodles for supper as well and it's pretty good. 10/10 highly recommend.

The airport limousine bus stops at Novotel Ambassador Gangnam and from there it's a short 1 min steep downhill walk to Dormy Inn entrance. It faces the main road and is easy to find. Attended a concert at KSPO dome and it's so nice that this hotel was in the middle of 2 train stations (Sinheonnyeon and Eonju station). Which are major lines, especially for line 9 which makes going to and fro the concert convenient. Eonju is upslope and Sinheonnyeon is downhill, which are important considerations when carrying heavy luggage. About 10 mins walk to either stations. It was raining heavily during my time there but I found my stay comfortable, there are umbrellas at the front entrance for you to borrow and return if you forgot to bring one. The staff are very polite and greet me whenever they see me. I did not manage to use the public bath during my stay but it seemed very popular with the hotel guests. Intended to try the breakfast but did not manage to wake up early to try it. Room was comfortable for 1 person. It was small and cosy but fully equipped. The hair dryer provided was quite dusty so I did not use it. The shower had hot water readily available with good water pressure and I liked the adjustable temperature options, which can be easily controlled next to the bed. There was free ramen during my stay and a limited season salt ramen which I did not manage to try. Free prebiotic drink (Yakult?) and free ice cream. I'd like to stay here again on my next visit!
