Let me just say, I was so pleased to find this Mediterranean spot in Seoul. Definitely a hidden gem located inside a hotel in the Itaewon area. I came here for a girls night out on a weeknight and surprisingly, there weren’t much people so the ambience was quite chill and quiet. It was definitely on the pricier end. We started off with some wine and the trio of dips (16,000 won) and I must say, I was a little disappointed as we were only served two pieces of bread considering it was four of us at the table. Of course, it wasn’t much of a problem as we were able to add on more bread. However, it would’ve been nice if it was complementary. The truffle pide (36,000 won) was absolutely delicious. I loved the nuttiness, and the flavour was even more enhanced with the combination of the (feta, parmesan, and mozzarella) cheeses. Oh, they also have the wagyu spinach pide which I would love to try another time. And of course, you can’t miss out on the kebab skewers! We ordered the beef (25,000 won) and lamb (25,000) which was cooked just right (medium rare) and so flavourful. The whipped feta dip that it comes with just ties the entire food experience so perfectly. Same for the grilled rib eye, although it was least visually enticing. We also ended up ordering the kingfish ceviche (24,000) which was definitely one of my personal favourites. The hint of citrus and herbs made the dish delightfully acidic and so refreshing. The final thing we ordered was the pizza (28,000), but we didn’t realize that the name literally had “salata” in it and was disappointed to find out it was those pizzas with bunch of salads on it. Honestly, it tasted mediocre, nothing too special. If you do decide to order, I would definitely recommend it as a starter dish.

Cleo, the Mediterranean Turkish restaurant at the Mondrian Hotel in Seoul, boasts an inviting ambiance with its stylish interior design. The service is commendable, with attentive and friendly staff who enhance the dining experience. The menu offers a wide selection of dishes that appear appetizing and promising at first glance. However, the actual taste of the dishes left much to be desired. The Mezze lacked the vibrant flavors typical of Mediterranean cuisine, and the bread served was disappointingly insubstantial. Neither the kebabs nor the hot starters met expectations, falling short in terms of both taste and authenticity. While the atmosphere and service provide a pleasant dining environment, the culinary execution does not match up to the restaurant's appealing facade. Given the underwhelming food experience, it's difficult to wholeheartedly recommend Cleo or consider a return visit.

This restaurant is a gem in Itaewon where there are plenty of mediterraneen food, but here the place is more elegant and the price is not too pricey. We took the burrata salad and the fattoush salad. Tuna tartar and beef and chicken kebab were amazing. The truffle pide is a must take crispy on the edges and soft in the center infused with truffle. For the dessert the basilic granita is light and palate-cleansing and the Pavlova was spectacular too. The service was attentive and thoughtful, thanks to Joyce (샇ㅖ) The atmosphere is vibrant yet relaxed and the food consistently excellent. A must-visit for anyone looking for a sophisticated yet soulful meal in Seoul.
